We have just been to Wales and stayed in this fabulous ideal if countryside cottage.
We had a very warm welcome with Welsh cakes, fresh milk and a welcome card.
Couldn't have asked for better facilities and setting!
Would recommend it and will visit again.
The cottage was very spacious for our family of 4 children and the children especially enjoyed the games room.
The cottage was very clean and well equipped.
Thank you so much for looking after us during our stay too. …

We arrived to a cloudy and wet Wales but the bungalow was inviting, well equipped and spacious. Beds made up and hot water on which was great after a long journey. Rooms are spacious and inviting. Plenty of games and books to keep everyone entertained. Huge folder of information with everything you could need. Would definitely revisit. …
A Charming, Peaceful Retreat (but with wifi and so much more!)
We booked a week’s stay here with our dog in mid-September, and are so pleased that we did. It is exactly as shown in the photos, but better because the photos don’t quite convey the wonderful, calm & relaxing atmosphere that the décor and location create. Little Kestrel is in the Snowdonia National Park on an estate that has other cabins, and initially we were concerned that it may not be the peaceful retreat we were hoping for. However our fears were totally unfounded as it occupies a corner site separate from the main estate, so is quite secluded having its own private entrance drive and also giving unencumbered views across the valley. We didn’t see or hear any other residents the whole time we were there!
We loved the charming way the cabin has been so tastefully furnished, and having stayed in lodges and wood cabins before, it was to a much higher standard than one usually finds with this type of accommodation. All the conveniences of home (we were able to do some of our holiday washing before we left!), and with all the touches that make your stay a real joy. The vintage style décor and antique trinkets with the gorgeous wooden interiors creates such a nostalgic atmosphere, the mod-cons of wifi, nespresso coffee & smart TV feel like luxurious treats from the future! With the lounge double doors open, you can really appreciate the privacy of the location and of course see more of the view. Unfortunately the weather stopped us using the fire bowl, but we enjoyed sitting out at the table & chairs on the decked area and with the use of a long lead, our dog could sit out with us. Be warned though, there are cows within view, a few local cats, umpteen birds and a fair few squirrels so do keep your dog leashed to protect the local wildlife! I’m happy to report that our dog loved the location, and with the private access and pretty garland lighting illuminating the path at night, it was easy to take him out whenever he needed me to.
To sum up, the cabin gave us the retreat we’d hoped for. The weather wasn’t quite so obliging, but our surroundings more than made up for it. And there’s nothing better after a sunny day on the Welsh Highland railway when arriving back to storm force winds in Porthmadog, you can drive back to a cosy cabin, light the woodburner and enjoy the complimentary prosecco. We didn’t meet the owners, but from the outset of our booking Tracy was very keen to ensure we had everything we might need and answered the few queries we had during our stay by text immediately. Little Kestrel is a real find - a comfortable, secluded hideaway where you wouldn’t expect to find such, and we hope to return next year to experience it all over again. …
Beautiful mountain location
We visit in October half-term break, so unfortunately not all outside facilities could be enjoyed due to autumn weather. Nevertheless this is great chalet in amazing mountain location with a stunning views. Chalet itself finished to high standard with everything you will need for good holidays, whether outside is sunny or rainy. comfortable sitting with TV, games and DVD's. Sitting outside area with great views, both to the front and rear of property. This area is perfect for walks, shops are close by, lots attractions for adult and kids in area. Owner provided extensive information on use of chalet as well as local tourist attraction available around. We had a great time and we would definitively come back! …
Ty Talcen - pretty location in Snowdonia- 54035
Exceeded all expectations!
We were a large (10 adults, 2 children) party of two families gatherered in this beautiful part of Wales for a small wedding. We rented both properties the owner has for a three night weekend break. I can not think of a single negative about both of these lovely properties. Instead, the positives: the amazingly well equipped kitchens, the spotlessly clean bathrooms and bedrooms, the little extras (a card and champagne for bride and groom) and the friendly and accomodating owners who allowed us to put a mini marquee in the garden and generally make the houses our homes for the weekend. We will be recommending this place to all our friends and very much hope that we will return one day in the (hopefully near!) future. Thanks for having us! …
