“A very comfortable home from home” The Coach House is in a lovely, peaceful spot but near to towns, with a variety of good restaurants. Crickhowell and its lovely kitchen shop is very close and we also visited Cardiff by train from abergavenny. Our grandson took full advantage of the large, lawned area at the back of the house and we all enjoyed a walk along the canal which is just down the road from the house.
“A perfect week in a perfect cottage” We couldn`t find a single fault with this cottage. Everything you would need is provided, a real home from home. Location is perfect if you want to get away from it all but not too far away. The owners couldn`t be more helpful if you need them. Kids loved the hot tub it was constantly in use throughout the whole week. Would definetly recommend to anyone. 5 stars from us without a doubt
“Absolutely stunning barn with amazing views!” I hired Dolly's Barn for a long weekend for my finances birthday and I'm very glad I chose this one. The barn is immaculate. Decor is very modern and homely. The view from the patio and bedroom window is amazing. You couldn't get more in the countryside if you tried. The host Helen was very kind and friendly. I would happily recommend this barn to anyone after a peaceful weekend away. Will definitely be back!
“Perfect in every regard” Couldn't have been better - we were two families of 4 with kids from 9 to 14. Everyone loved the cottage. Big enough that we all had space (kids in the "games room" most of the time) but not so big that you felt you were knocking around in a warehouse. All mod-cons, comfortable - could not fault it. Views lovely, Abergavenny 5 minutes away, walks from the doorstep or down the road - easy access to M4 etc. Owners an absolute delight - friendly, welcoming, helpful but not in the slightest intrusive. One caveat for families with small children is that one of the two master bedrooms is up a different set of stairs from the other three bedrooms, fine for us but maybe not if you have younger children...
“Perfect for a family celebration weekend” A beautifully restored cottage with stylish but comfortable modern furnishings, warm and cosy with both central heating and a wood-burning stove. The kitchen is the best equipped we've ever had in thirty odd years of renting cottages, beds huge and very comfortable, baths and showers very efficient with loads of hot water, high quality towels and bed linen. What made it really special though was the personal welcome by the owner, table beautifully set for dinner, bottle of wine, flowers in every room: so many small details.
And the surroundings? Apart from that amazing view of Tintern abbey across the road (no noticeable traffic noise), there is plenty of scope for walks from the door, interesting sites to explore and places to eat without using the car. Our expectations were high - and exceeded.
“A warm welcome to a lovely cottage” Our unseasonably warm and sunny week in the Black Mountains was more than equalled by the warm and generous welcome we received at this newly opened property. The cottage itself is well furnished and equipped, and well located for days out by car along the Heads of the Valleys, Black Mountains, and the borderlands along the Wye Valley. The walk up Skirrid Fawr is easily achieved directly from the cottage. There are a couple of very nice restaurants within a short drive from the cottage; but we found we had to go a bit further to find a pub. All this at a very reasonable price - highly recommended!
