“Ideal” Mein hosts were always helpful, chatty and willing to answer any questions we had. Great cottage in a perfect location for our first visit to this area of Wales. Good WiFi, comfortable, wildlife is very near visually and audibly. Cycling and walking ideal for us (easy stuff cycling and moderate for walking)

“tranquil” helen the owner was so helpful and very welcoming everything was ready for us, the cottage has a wonderful charm,it has a wood burner that brings a cosy warmth to the cottage ( a basket of wood is ready and waiting for you )the kitchen has everything you need, the beds are very comfortable with fabulous soft warm quilts and pillows.location is stunning, local pubs about 2 miles away provide good food and reasonable prices.i loved the peace and quiet and the stunning scenery there was no shop around the corner so you need to remember supplies when you go out but that is not a bad thing.

“Fabulous cottage and setting” Whole family were so impressed by the accommodation. This is a beautifally converted barn keeping original features such as wooden beams. stone walls etc. It is spacious, comfortable and very nicely decorated, well equipped and eco friendly . Great outdoor space front and back for relaxing, eating and BBQing - with views over woods and sugar loaf hill, which has immediate walking path access too. Also loved the old shed with TT table - was used daily by us all. Cake and wine on arrival was a really nice touch. Great location for mountain biking at Bike Park Wales, Black Mountain, and Forest of Dean and also for finding own trails. Would go back again.

“Perfect for a family celebration weekend” A beautifully restored cottage with stylish but comfortable modern furnishings, warm and cosy with both central heating and a wood-burning stove. The kitchen is the best equipped we've ever had in thirty odd years of renting cottages, beds huge and very comfortable, baths and showers very efficient with loads of hot water, high quality towels and bed linen. What made it really special though was the personal welcome by the owner, table beautifully set for dinner, bottle of wine, flowers in every room: so many small details. And the surroundings? Apart from that amazing view of Tintern abbey across the road (no noticeable traffic noise), there is plenty of scope for walks from the door, interesting sites to explore and places to eat without using the car. Our expectations were high - and exceeded.

“A very comfortable home from home” The Coach House is in a lovely, peaceful spot but near to towns, with a variety of good restaurants. Crickhowell and its lovely kitchen shop is very close and we also visited Cardiff by train from abergavenny. Our grandson took full advantage of the large, lawned area at the back of the house and we all enjoyed a walk along the canal which is just down the road from the house.
