A lovely cottage around 30 minutes drive to Aberystwyth or New Quay. 4 good sized double bedrooms, lovely kitchen diner and lounge. Suitable for large family. The cottage is in a isolated spot, which was great for the children as the gardens have a trampoline and pond and plenty of space. Wifi and other amenities all worked well which was great. The owners were friendly and helpful and kept in touch during the stay to check everything was ok. Would definitely return as it was a great experience. …
Cwt Mochyn, Banceithin Farm and Holiday Cottages (dog friendly)
A Christmas break to remember for all the right reasons!
What a lovely setting for a Christmas break. We even had a smattering of snow on the last morning! Everything was wonderful - from the little touches such as the welcome blackboard plate with our family name on to the fridge stocked with our pre-ordered fresh produce all ready for us to prepare our evening meal on the first night. We stayed at Cwt Mochyn, and found the setting was remote enough for us to feel we'd got away from the hustle and bustle yet near enough to amenities to ensure we could go and get any essentials we'd not brought with us.
The kids loved the games room, the stunning views and the nearness of the beaches. The adults enjoyed the charming nearby town of Aberaeron - and were delighted to find so many dog-friendly places! The food everywhere was fantastic, and the locals a real delight to talk to. West Wales is surprisingly cosmopolitan, but one assumes the nearby university is partly the reason for that. Lampeter is evidently doing very well.
We had a great traditional Christmas with plenty of long country walks and family games. The television was there for the unmissable stuff, but we honestly enjoyed a break from the pings and alarms of daily connected life.
If I could have made one change it would be to bring some binoculars so I could enjoy the bird life more. we saw plenty of red kites and buzzards on our walks, but the Cwt Mochyn garden itself was a hive of avian activity every morning too and it would have been great to observe more closely what was going on on the bird table. I'll remember to bring them next time! It was a great stay in a lovely house and we intend to revisit sometime! …
