“Just perfect! More than met our expectations” We were a group of 5 couples from Singapore, new Zealand, united states and the uk, meeting up for 3 days before a wedding at Great Fosters hotel. Gt Tangley with its history, character, beautiful dining room, and ample space was the perfect location for us to meet up and host a BBQ for 40 family and friends. Nicho met us and gave an informative tour including all the history which was lovely. The only criticism from our guests was the shower in the older part of the building, I did advise them before hand that only one room was ensuite but we all were accommodating of each other. Every one loved it, took walks round the grounds and didn't want to leave!
Four complete novice guys aged 41, 58, 65 and 71 took on a weekend on Box of Delights. We worked out a route north to Addlestone with 3 nightime stopovers. We were given a comprehensive instruction including accompaniment to the first lock. We had a fantastic weekend which was a learning curve and where we made the odd mistake, we found other barge users extremely helpful and friendly.
The barge was like a long caravan but with everything you could possibly need. Just poodling along the river was very calming and relaxing and by the end, we were getting through the locks quite professionally. Well almost. Wonderful weekend. …
Fantastic experience on the unique Wey navigation
After a helpful boat navigation and lock tutorial (we were complete novices!) from Ray and Julie, our crew of two pootled off for our 4 day break to experience the delights of this beautiful stretch of water. After some minor navigating difficulties (a small matter of a grounding!) plus a little more patient telephone coaching from Ray, we became accustomed to the benefits of the very helpful bow thrusters.
The boat itself was spotlessly clean and was beautifully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Who knew you could fit so much in a small space, and certainly more storage than I was expecting. A fascinating, tranquil few days with the ever changing scenery being a feast for the eyes, we have never seen so many dragonflies. During our short break the weather was fantastic (if a little too hot for all that physical lock work!) and we got up to Coxes Lock at Addlestone, then returned and travelled to just north of Godalming before returning Stepping Stones to its home mooring. We particularly enjoyed stopping on Guildford Meadows one evening, walking across the Ferry Bridge and having a yummy pizza at the Ship Inn at St Catherines after working up a major appetite during the day. It's funny how you get a totally different perspective on a town when travelling by water, quite fascinating.
Anyway, it's not very often you finish a holiday with such a sense of exhilaration and achievement, so it will last long in our memories. I would thoroughly recommend Stepping Stones for a really uniqueholiday, and also thank Ray and Julie for sharing their lovely boat with us. …
Trinity House Garden Flat
Fantastic garden flat in a beautiful house. Our host Carol was very welcoming and she has made the garden flat very comfortable and it is very well equipped. The surrounding area is lovely and we will definitely return. …
Beaufield Mews, Shere
Lovely apartment in a perfect location.
Now regulars here - because it's a lovely well maintained apartment in a very convenient location. We visited early in March just a day after the snow and ice started to clear, so it was very cold. On arrival, the flat was very warm and it stayed that way during a cold week. So if visiting in winter conditions have no fears! Set in a delightful village it's a real pleasure to be so close to pubs, tea room and a well stocked shop which opens early and closes late. And coming from a village with no buses it is a novelty to have a bus stop within a 3 minute walk. Looking forward to our next visit. …
Great Tangley Manor
Great Tangley Manor - amazing place to stay!
Great Tangley Manor was a fantastic location for our family celebration, luxurious, historic and so homely. We all felt so relaxed during our weekend and enjoyed the wonderful grounds, tennis and swimming pool all nestled in the tranquility of the Surrey Hills.
The house is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing during the weekend. The rooms are full of character and the beautiful dining room was perfect for our family celebration.
From the moment we enquired about the property the help and service offered by Nicho was exemplary and nothing was too much trouble for him.
We will definitely be returning! …
BEAUTIFUL CONTEMPORARY HOUSE IN A GREAT LOCATION
The house was fantastic, ever better than we expected and such a great space to have a large gathering. It has everything you need and the photos really don't do justice to how big the property is. Fleur was a great host and on hand to answer any questions we had straight away. I would definitely recommend staying here. …
