There’s more to England’s South East than London’s metropolitan buzz. The area is crammed with picturesque architecture and textbook English villages. There are plenty of walking paths – the South Downs Way and the Thames Path take ramblers right through the heart of this area. The southeast has long been the wealthiest region in England, and Windsor Castle is to be found here. Kent is England’s garden, with rolling green hills. Canterbury is a must-see for its cathedrals and medieval buildings, as is Winchester.

“Beautiful, Historic and Comfortable”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2016

Graet Tangley Manor was absolutely stunning. The pictures don't quite do it justice. We didn't want to leave because it was such a joy to be in the place. In addition, having a tennis court, swimming pool and other games at hand meant there was always something to do. All with your own private pond with ducks and other birds. Nicho was a pleasure to deal with.

“Wonderful”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2013

Great Tangley Manor is a wonderful property in a great location. The gardens are beautiful and the overall stay was a great experience for my family who travelled over from Germany for our wedding. I would strongly recommend the property for special occasions or just to book a getaway.

“Stunning”

Reviewed 17 May 2013

We stayed at Great Tangley manor for my husband’s 40th birthday with family - It was amazing - All I could have hoped for and more - The wow factor is really indescribable - Have to see it to believe it - Simple to book - Nicho was really helpful and on hand with everything - We were personally greeted and given the tour (which my husband just walked around in amazement!) - The gardens are beautiful - The house has all mod cons (which are essential with little ones) - Would we go back again- Yes! - This is truly a stunning house to be enjoyed by all ages (the kids had the best time playing hide and seek!) – The whole family have not stopped talking about the weekend - Cannot wait to go back

“Party of 7 (3 bedroom option) - We all love Love LOVED Great Tangley Manor!”

Reviewed 15 Nov 2012

The whole process, from booking, arriving, staying and leaving was easy (well as easy as leaving such a lovely house can be!). Nicho kept us well informed and provided all the information we could possibly need during our stay. We can think of nothing they could have done better. Nicho and the owners made us feel very welcome and the tour was very interesting. Maybe this is why we all settled in and felt at home straight away. For a large house it feels surprisingly cosy. There were 3 young children in our party and they found the house fascinating. This presented us with a problem getting them to leave the house for days out and whilst out, there was the constant, 'Are we going back now?' so my advice to parents is make it easy on yourself and don't bother to leave the house! There are so many things to wax lyrical about; the great setting, the fascinating history (especially sitting in the dining room with its panels from the Armada and big window you feel like you are sitting in a ship), the kitchen with the modern glass house and how it doesn't feel at all at odds with the more historic parts, how much fun it was rustling up family dinners in the lovely kitchen, the grandeur yet comfortable ambience of every room. We feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to stay in such a place. We are veterans of the Landmark Trust properties and this just blew them all away. It had all the 21st century comforts yet didn't compromise the historic aspect. The only downside is a week later we are still pining for the Manor.

“A perect place for family to stay for a wedding at Clandon Park”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2012

Our daughter was married at Clandon Park in June and the whole family stayed at Great Tangley. A perfect peaceful house, more than home from home. Everyone loved the house and throughly enjoyed their stay. The gardens were stunning. The kitchen had everything you could want. Great Tangley added the finishing touch to a wonderful wedding.

“Just perfect! More than met our expectations”

Reviewed 4 Jun 2012

We were a group of 5 couples from Singapore, new Zealand, united states and the uk, meeting up for 3 days before a wedding at Great Fosters hotel. Gt Tangley with its history, character, beautiful dining room, and ample space was the perfect location for us to meet up and host a BBQ for 40 family and friends. Nicho met us and gave an informative tour including all the history which was lovely. The only criticism from our guests was the shower in the older part of the building, I did advise them before hand that only one room was ensuite but we all were accommodating of each other. Every one loved it, took walks round the grounds and didn't want to leave!

“A wonderful, relaxing venue”

Reviewed 14 May 2012

This property fitted our family needs perfectly and we immediately felt at home and comfortable. The description was accurate and exceeded our expectations. The house is an interesting blend of different building and decoration styles which we found blended perfectly. Regarding the answers below, I felt that although perfect for us, due to the layout of walk-though bedrooms, non-family parties could find things awkward. Also, I was still glad I booked it but the shooting was 50 mins away rather than 25 which, had I known, may have prevented me going ahead. The hill walks are easiy accessed with great views and the grounds round the house are very well-kept and interesting. The extra garden hire would be good for longer stays when picnicking but can be walked very quickly.

“Excellent venue for Corporate Retreat”

Reviewed 4 May 2012

It was the perfect venue for a corporate retreat. Near to London, total privacy, comfortable and well appointed common areas for group meetings, lovely bedrooms, and beautiful grounds. It was exactly what we were after and I would recommend it highly.

“Great Tangley was a fantastic choice!”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2012

We stayed in this amazing manor house for a 70th Birthday & Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration. It was a wonderful surprise for my family who enjoyed it immensely. The property is beautiful and well maintained. It comes complete with all modern services e.g. wi-fi, computer, docks for i-pods, all kitchen appliances etc. The grounds were beautiful and the tennis court and swimming pool were a lovely bonus for the children. The history of the place is very interesting and the library was wonderful for relaxing in the evening. We used caterers for our Main evening event which worked wonderfully well in the main dining room & the space allowed everyone to find some peace & quiet when needed. Nicho, who managed our stay, unpacked a delivered shop before we arrived and helped us settle in with a quick tour. This allowed us to get started on our break straight away. The service and support was fantastic. I would highly recommend this as a special experience - we would love to visit again.

“Absolutely stunning”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2012

The moment we arrived at this venue we were welcomed into this stunning home learning lots of facts about the history of this house along the way. We hired the house as a base for our wedding and quite simply didn't want to leave, the house is amazing and we were made to feel so welcome. The house was comfortable enough to have both sets of family (11 of us in all) who were equally in awe of this house. The rooms were spectacular and the main master bedroom has the fascinating touch of the master bathroom which we loved. I could go on and on about how wonderful this house is and the team behind making our stay so memorable, but this was truly the best way for us to start our first day of married life. Anyone thinking of booking this house please do not hesitate and book straight away, i am currently trying to find an excuse for us to go back.
