“MAGICAL MOONSTONE” Wow!, right from the start, before Julie and I even arrived at Moonstone Cottage in the incredible energy of Glastonbury, Katarina couldn't have been more helpful in her communication. When we finally did arrive, Katarina couldn't have been more welcoming and warm, nothing was too much trouble.
Julie and I really appreciated the extra touches of the bowl of chocolates, the lovely bag of crisps and the delicious bottle of wine, they were all thoroughly savoured and enjoyed over our 3 night stay.
The cottage was perfect for our needs, with a lovely cosy log burner and central heating. There was a great selection of DVD's and CD's for the evenings and the double bed was super comfortable. We used the free Wi-Fi for the few times we needed to communicate with the outside world.
The outside garden was just lovely, with a beautiful raised stone patio area at the very end of the garden. Katarina even invited us to help ourselves to the gorgeous and fully flavoursome grapes, which had truly benefited from 2011 Indian Summer conditions.
Our entire stay, our car remained parked in the off road Cottage parking space and we simply walked everywhere. The town centre, the Tor, the gardens and the many other delightful nooks and crannies that Glastonbury has to offer, were so close. In fact, at the end of our stay, we really didn't want to leave!, the cottage has such a warm and welcoming feel, it really was a home away from home!.
All credit to Katarina, the place is spotlessy clean too. One day in the future, when we return to Glastonbury, we only hope that Moonstone Cottage will be available for us to stay in again, to remember the beautiful memories of our previous time, a time of such fun, Love, relaxation and the beautiful high energy, that one has to experience in Glastonbury.
We hope that those of you who read this review and get to stay in Moonstone Cottage, enjoy the stay as much as we did.
Love and Light. Shane & Julie.
“A very nice cottage, near to the centre , very good beds !!” Glastonbury Rose is a very nice cottage , near the centre. Very good beds.
John , the owner, is reachable by phone if anything is needed.
We enjoyed our stay very much !
Charming homely cottage great central location for all attractions
Just near footpath to the Tor, around the corner from the Main Street, this gorgeous cottage is spotless. Katarina, the owner, made us feel very welcome, and has thought of everything you might possibly need, even earplugs in the bedroom (though there was no discernible traffic noise with front windows closed). The kitchen is well equipped, the garden a lovely retreat with lighting features at night, and the raised patio at the bottom of the garden overlooks the abbey gardens, with comfortable seating, parasol and seat pads provided. An umbrella is by the door, and rain ponchos for emergencies!
The rooms are well furnished, with local artists' work and pictures of local landmarks on display. The living room has a vast collection of books, DVD's local maps and guides, and CD player. The bunk bedded room has toys and lego for children, and there are board games and soothing CD's downstairs. The cottage has central heating but we found it quite warm without it on.
There are plenty of eating places and takeaways nearby, or everything you need to cook at home. I really loved this property. …
Glastonbury Centre Location
Home Away from Home
Absolutely home away from home! And being we were far from home (United States) so much appreciated. And even though Lynda was out of town during our stay she stayed in touch to ensure we had everything we needed. Also prior to our arrival she never failed to respond so kindly to all our inquiries. Thanks so much for making our trip so comfortable and memorable! …
lovely, welcoming, comfy well equipped base for our holiday.
We had a great welcome and midweek stay at Rose Cottage. it was lovely for our daughters to be able to stroll off and browse the shops alone, we walked up to the Tor from the house quite easily(the distance was easy; not the hill :) ). Despite the weather being grotty we went to Clarks village and to Wookey Hole and even popped down to Weymouth for the afternoon and had a great family holiday. The gluten free bread from the bread shop was lovely and the gluten free fish and chips on a Thursday night from the chippy were really special! Thanks to Meredith and John for the menus; it was lovely being lazy and having takeaways!! The Thai/ Malaysian selection at the Oriental chef was scrummy. The beds and linen were sumptuous and Meredith's provisions were so generous we didn't have to go out buying basics. We were concerned about the car parking, but always managed to park within easy walking distance. The girls loved the details and attention given to every part of Rose Cottage. …
