“Beautiful, comfortable mews property with grand piano” This is an absolutely beautiful property in a charming quiet mews - a real find. We booked it because it had a piano (which one of our sons needs) but it turned out to be a great choice for the whole family. The location is ideal for exploring Dartmoor. It's a short stroll into the village centre where there's a handy little supermarket and a very nice tea room that also does delicious cooked breakfasts. The property is much bigger than it looks from the outside - the main living area, master bedroom and rock-and-roll bathroom are all a generous size. Our party included two hulking great teenage boys, but there was plenty of room for all four of us and all our kit too without feeling cramped - we stored two road bikes in the orangery and a kayak in the back yard. The property is beautifully decorated throughout, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The piano is playable - not brilliant but playable. Don't be put off by the sllightly unprepossessing road where you park your car because once you go through the gate into the mews it's altogether different. We had no difficulty finding a parking space on the road every day no matter what time we returned from our various trips out. This being Devon, there's endless stuff to do - fantastic cycling up and down Dartmoor, kayaking on the River Dart, all manner of tourist stuff and we also enjoyed the Parke parkrun at nearby Bovey Tracey. Perfect excuse for a jacuzzi to massage our tired limbs afterwards! We are so pleased we chose this property, couldn't have asked for anywhere better - the owner even let us stay for a non-standard number of nights. Highly recommended

River Garden Cottage
Beautiful cottage

The cottage is spacious enough for 4 people. It is beautifully maintained in an ideal location to travel if you wish or to eat locally if you do not wish to drive. Properties are in very close proximity to each other and car space, though available,is very tight if you have a wide car but the owner provides a valuable pass for the car parks use if you prefer? Owner is very helpful with any problems you may encounter.see more
The Old Stables
Lovely cottage!

Myself, my husband and two children had a lovely stay at this delightful cottage in February. The cottage is very aesthetically pleasing but retains its original features. The fire is wonderful, the beds extremely comfortable and the bathroom just fantastic. The welcome basket with bread, cheese and juices all locally sourced was a lovely suprise on arrival. There is a washing machine, fridge and freezer and cutlery and crockery, pots and pans all provided. There is also a beautiful orangey as well as a piano and two guitars! We stayed for a week but wish we’d have stayed longer. The town is a great base for exploring the moors and beyond. If you stay and have small children, I’d recommend Dartmoor Zoo at Sparkwell, Pennywell Farm just up the road, Becky Falls and Horse shoe falls on the Moors. Locally, we ate at ‘The Abbey’ and ‘The Globe’, both very friendly pubs serving good food! Thank you steve!see more
