“Brilliant Weekend Break” We enjoyed our weekend holiday £rd -6th Mayat Lindores very much. The house was perfect for all the family including our two dogs. The house was filled with all the crockery etc and facilities we required. My grandchildren thought the play park and beach fantastic. My son, son in law and myself had a pleasant game of golf despite the strong wind. Alnwick and the castle were an easy drive away and we spent a very enjoyable afternoon on Saturday with the children learning how to fly a broomstick, (quidditch as in Harry Potter. Sunday was a trip to Holy Island and the Lindisfarne Castle. It was a fantastic weekend and even the North East weather behaved, although very windy and rather chilly (anoraks and jumpers needed) we had no rain the entire time.

“Beautiful countryside cottage with all the luxuries” Well appointed cottage, everything you might need and more provided. Quiet, peaceful setting in stunning countryside. The on-site facilities are second to none - pool and hot tub, tennis court and playground all fabulous and very well used by us! The lake walk is gorgeous with plentiful wildlife and birds to spot. Loads to do with kids nearby - we recommend Thrunton woods which is easy to get to cross country on back roads on bike or by foot. Northumberlands many stunning beaches in easy reach. We will be back! Thank you.

“Home from Home” We enjoyed an excellent weekend in this comfortable and well-appointed house. The welcome basket in the hall set the tone for the whole property which provided everything we needed for our stay. There are many thoughtful touches - fresh flowers, elegant decor, as well as the essentials of comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and a well equipped kitchen. The house is only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre and the coast and country of Northumberland are a short car journey away. We had no trouble parking outside the house. It was a pleasure to deal with Viv via email; she answered very quickly and gave lots of helpful information to make this a perfect weekend break. We shall be back!

“A nice relaxing break...” We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to alnwick made extra special by our stay in Juliet Cottage. The communication via email we received from the owners Loiuse and Viv both before and after our visit was excellent. They provided us with all the information we needed to ensure our visit to the area was enjoyable. The cottage was spotless inside - bedding and towels had the most gorgeous smell !! We had everything we needed in the kitchen which was very modern and clean. Kids loved the sturdy bunk beds with their own little bedside lights and the fairy lights in the back garden area were amazing. All in all, a very relaxing break for us. Cottage excellent, location ideal for sightseeing and we were so lucky with the weather. Thank you also for the kind gifts on arrival - we hope to return to your lovely cottage in the future.

“Great Place for a group Break” This was the first time we have stayed in Northumberland and I cannot believe we found such a wonderful location at first attempt. The "Police House" is an ideal venue for a group to stay whether by self catering or using the catering facilities of Dunstonburgh Castle Hotel who own the property. All rooms were spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and fitted out. TVs in all bedrooms and a kitchen area with everything we could need. The location is ideal for exploring the Northumberland coastline. The beach (dog-friendly) is an easy walk. Craster is easily reachable if you fancy their wonderful Kippers. We will be retuening with other family members in the near future.

“Sisters break from the kids!!” Had the most amazing weekend staying at puddleduck cottage. Everything we needed for a chilled weekend. Very short stroll to Alnwick Castle to top up on Alnwick gin. Good pubs with great food and Yans Cantonese take away was delicious. Very friendly locals. Cottage was so comfortable and homely will definately recommend and we will be back.

“Highly recommended” This cottage is a gem of a find in the lovely village of Embleton. It was absolutely spotless & was a great size for our family of four including two toddlers. The pub across the road was not only convenient but served delicious and plate filling food for the whole family. The staff were very accommodating in allowing us to pre-order food from their menu for our little ones so it was ready to be served to them immediately upon our arrival at 6 pm. I was even allowed to take my unfinished glass of wine back to the cottage to enjoy after our little ones were put to bed - a bonus ! The cottage is located within a short walking distance of a swing park but also Embleton Bay which is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen in England. We were also a short drive from key attractions such as Alnwick Castle , Bamburgh, Seahouses and the village of Craster for the coastal walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. We would definitely like to return !

“Wonderful cottage, beautiful village.” Ease of booking via email highly recommended! Christine and Louise very prompt at replying to any questions you may have, and very friendly, nothing too much trouble. A very lovely welcome tray waiting for us on arrival, with wine, chocolates, home made cake and fresh flowers in the cottage, as well as a pint of milk in the fridge. Tea, coffee and sugar already there. Lovely comfortable cosy little cottage, perfect for the two of us. Big comfy bed, rooms nicely decorated. Some lovely places to eat and drink in alnmouth, whether for evening meal or a light lunch, morning coffee, whatever, no need to use the car at all! My partner is a keen golfer and was able to have a round on the first morning, although we mostly spent our time on the fabulous beach as the weather was so good! Such a shame we could only stay 3 nights owing to the cottage being fully booked! We hope to return soon!

“Location and facilities of cottage are perfect” Embleton is in very good location to be able to access other areas in Northumberland. The village is well provided with places to eat, golf course and beach easily accessible. Stable cottage is well equipped, has a fabulous garden and is very peaceful. The hotel provides good food and staff made us very welcome. Would definitely stay here again!!

“A perfect trip to the North East” We had a lovely time at Midwood Lodge. The cottage is incredibly spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. The woodburner was amazing and my daughter loved the bunk beds! Great selection of toys and books including the lego. Superb garden with treehouse, garden games, tyre and monkey swing. Excellent spot in the village, very quiet but only a short walk to the restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and the beach. We found a letter in bottle on the beach too which my daughter was delighted about. The Italian restaurant on the high street was lovely!

“Another excellent experience at the Rose Cottages” We've been regular visitors to Northumberland for over 10 years staying in Embleton which is an excellent base from which to visit the many places of interest in the county and walk the wonderful coastline with our dogs. This is the second time we've rented one of the Rose Cottages. They are perfect if you want a little independence away from the main hotel but still with full access to the hotel facilities. The cottage feels like 'home from home', It has all the equipment you need to cook if you want to, but my Wife is also on holiday from cooking so we use the hotel restaurant! The Dunstanburgh restaurant is excellent and the quality of food and service seems to get better each year we come! We will be back again next year to enjoy another peaceful few days in Northumberland.
