We were able to access by car all the great destinations in Yorkshire. ...the Moores, the Dales, Whitby, Durham, Pickering etc with ease. Susan's cottage was perfect. All you need to feel at home....very clean and well appointed.Susan was most obliging and made us very welcome. Thanks for going the extra yards for us..we really enjoyed our time in Brotton.

“Splendid !” I moved away from East Yorkshire over 30 years ago, so I was very pleased to find such a pleasant place to stay for a couple of weeks and rediscover the area. I found the apartment very comfortable for the 3 of us staying there, everything was clean and in good working order and it was a nice surprise to find a supply of tea, coffee and fresh milk waiting for us when we arrived. I went to Beverley Grammar School in the 1970’s and my recent stay allowed me to rediscover some of the wonderful things about Beverley. A guided tour of the minster roof allows you to see how it was constructed as if you are seeing it through the eyes of the craftsmen who built it, also walking on the Westwood gives you a view of Beverley that is probably one of the most scenic views in England. The apartment is very conveniently situated & it is easy to stroll along to Wednesday Market to enjoy a morning coffee in one of the cafes while reading the paper, and in the evening have dinner in one of the restaurants and enjoy a pint or two on the way back. I would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting the wonderful town of Beverley.

“It felt like a home from the first minute” Definitely a great place to stay if you want a quiet home, not too far from York. The kids (10 and 12) enjoyed being on their own floor. You have everything you need and more in the small but adequately furnished family room. The washing machine is a great plus. The area is fantastic for walking and taking a tour on a steam train. Maybe less suitable for a family with teenagers.

“Peace and quiet” Our third stay at Cow Byre cottage. A lovely cottage tucked away from the hustle and bustle, in a lovely peaceful village. Central for exploring a beautiful part of Yorkshire.

“Very comfortable cottage in peaceful location.” Cowstone Gill is a lovely cottage to get away from it all! Set in glorious scenic location next to a stream, it has it all! The cottage is equipped to a high standard, especially the kitchen, which is of true farmhouse size and style. having two staircases and bathrooms, it is ideal for two separate couples or larger families. Furnishings are comfortable downstairs with an excellent log burner for colder times. I can highly recommend this super cottage and have already booked a second stay!

“Amazing views, excellent walking and bird watching location” We have stayed at Netherscar twice. Both times we have had a marvellous time. The walks from the doorstep are magnificent. Intrepid walkers can do the Yorkshire Peaks if so inclined. For the less agile there are level walks too. The drive up to the cottage is wonderful with sheep and cows sat on the track, reluctantly moving to let the car pass! The view of the viaduct is great and we enjoyed watching trains go over it, walking under it and learning its history up at the very friendly visitor centre. The cottage itself is a little jaded but clean and comfy. Would not win any prizes in an Ideal Home exhibition but that is part of its charm. The owner was quick to rectify the shower which stopped working and attend to all our needs, but never intrusive. There are plenty of places to drive to nearby e.g. Hawes, Ingleton etc. but mostly we enjoyed sitting in the sun lounge taking in the views, reading and totally relaxing. It is a truly 'get away from it all' place.

“Lovely cosy hideaway” This is a lovely little cottage tucked away near farm land in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. It was immaculately clean, and everything we needed was provided. The living room was very cosy, and the kitchen table was perfect for gathering around for roast dinners. We vistited over New Year after a period of heavy snowfall, yet the cottage was always warm. We were able to go on walks straight from the cottage door, and met the local potholing club along the way! There is a small village shop approx 25mins walk from the house selling very limited supplies, but a car journey is definitely necessary for more stocking up. Overall a wonderful, quaint little place!

“comfort and space” Loved the accommodation as it was well equipped, comfortable and spacious. It was very convenient for visits to lots of different places in the area. Parking was easier than I expected despite having two cars.

“Comfortable and convenient” Lovely house, with plenty of space, apart from the living room, which wasn't that big, but we made a lot of use of the large kitchen so it wasn't a problem. Nice garden, and a small play park just a few steps away from the house, which is ideal for younger children. Great location - about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Whitby, and what a bonus to have two car parking spaces.

“Perfect cottage, perfect situation” owners very helpful and told me all about the history of the hall, very interesting. Cottage was very high standard and exceptionally comfortable. I've never slept in a better bed!!! Ideal for doggie people - lovely walks from doorstep and only a few mins drive to a lovely reservoir walk. Worth taking a trip to Ladybower and Castleton too. Beautful views from patio area. Although cottage is right next to hall this was not a problem at all. All windows overlook gardens and views.

“A magical holiday location.” A well furnished and kitted house. A welcome pack and a bowl of fresh fruit on arrival. Four bedrooms each with en suite. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Our handicapped son enjoyed the horses and we enjoyed the easy access to the country side. Good meals in local pubs.

“totally relaxing” Close proximity to town, railway and bus stations, shops, amenities and sea was perfect but cottage location was still quiet and peaceful. Private parking was an added bonus. A delight to see the steam trains pass by from the windows. Even the weather was excellent.

“Wonderful welcome to Yorkshire” We have recently moved to the area after spending 6yrs in australia and had a very warm welcome from Mick, Sandra and family. It exceeded our expectations and the website photos don't do the place justice. It was amazing and the family gave us lots of advise on the area. The accommodation was one of the best we have stayed in and want more people to go and enjoy the hard work that the family have done in making a wonderful holiday getaway. The hot-tub was a huge bonus and our little Charlie loved the big bath.

“A most comfortable stay” The cottage was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. It was well located and enabled us to explore the area. Thirsk was nearby with supermarkets and plenty of independent traders of all kinds. The owners were very welcoming and the little extra touches of milk, flowers, bottle of wine and fresh eggs from their hens were lovely. If there is one downside to wheelhouse cottage then it is that there is no view from the property as it is all ground floor.
