“Excellent holiday cottage.” Really amazing holiday cottage, the owners seemed to have thought of everything to make you as comfortable as they could. There was a wonderful welcome basket with wine, coffee, tea, and all sorts of goodies. The cottage was modern, well equipped and comfortable. The garden went down to the river with a beautiful summer house to relax in. Can't recommend this more highly..

“Great cottage fantastic location.” Greeted by the owner, full of information, very friendly and helpful. welcome pack awaited us on arrival. lovely cottage fully equipped, probably more kitchen items than most of us have at home. climbing frame for children in garden, luckily we had glorious weather, but there was a fully equipped games room for wet days. everything worked and it was spotlessly clean, Would gladly go back if the need arose. Nice quiet location, good walk into Goathland once you find the way.

“Brilliant location” Perfectly located to access the beautiful surrounding countryside with great walks for my collie. In the evening it's a short stroll to the local pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend Panetti's and The Taste of India. The cottage has everything you need with the addition of the great dog friendly garden with a gate that leads direct to a walk along the beck. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch. We will be returning.

“A wonderful cottage in a lovely location.” Our family: two adults/two children with Grandma and Grandad, visted this cottage and found it to be spotlessly clean, with all the facilities you could ask for in a self catering property. The location was ideal, in a pleasant village and accessible to the surrounding area such as York. I will certainly visit again!

“Beautiful house and surroundings offering fantastic value for money” We thoroughly enjoyed our week at South Wing, which is a very spacious, comfortable and warm house with its own grounds and views. Wi-Fi and Sky were both provided - very necessary when you have young teenagers with devices! We appreciated the two lounges and well stocked kitchen with very large fridge & freezer. Only a 5 minute walk to the village and a 5 minute drive to great beaches. Also, most importantly, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the high quality bed linen much appreciated. Thank You!

“Relaxed & Chilled.” The Best thing I can say about our hosts Louise & Steve was that we never saw them apart from collecting and returning the keys. Let me explain more on this - we were met by our friendly and amicable hosts who explained how the hot tub worked, showed us inside the summer house where the bbq was and things such as where beach & nearby pubs were. We were advised if we needed anything at all and just ask, as I started didn't need to as EVERYTHING was perfect. We came for 3 stress free night's and that is exactly what we got, and was heavenly. The hot tub was cleaned daily and used up to 3 times a day by us and was great and even our autistic son adored it which was a real bonus. What Louise & Steve have created is a little haven with tremendous attention to detail, from the lights on the external trees to the little fairy tree house. The garden was large and ideal for my dog but so was the beach a gentle 10 mins stroll down the road. I highly recommend this stay as long as you want to chill & relax, if you are used to being constantly on the go this is a must to wind down. I had a chat with Louise on departure and told her to expect another visit from us - it was heavenly, and highly recommend.

“Escape From The Crowds.” Well I finally found found The Cottage after making three about turns on the road. Down a wee country track, we were met by Ingid, Matt and Knight Arthur...I grid offered to help me out with buying a couple of items for when Shen went shopping , so kind, very nice pleasant people.... Arthur promptly showed us around...my two dogs scurried off noses to the ground then finally the kettle went on..... On the Monday I bought fire requirements, and on Monday night I lit a fire, later adding a couple of logs. How lovely! Took us back to our childhood, toasting tea cakes at the fireside. My cousin 86yrs old slept excellently....I less so, as I found the double bed a little hard....I'm used to a softer bed, but as the week went on I adjusted and was happy to wander off in my dreams... Some lovely areas for walking, with breath taking countryside and fabulous vistas... Our more smiley moments were coming across roadside barrows selling all kinds of goodies...made the obligatory visit to Whitby Abbey, Scarborough, Ryedale Museum at Hutton-le-Hole absolutely a must...finishing off with a mighty tasty meal at the pub next to the museum. While staying at the cottage I bought my vegetables from the top farm, the most yummy carrots I've tasted for a long time...but a huge selection of fruit and veg, eggs too.... It's peaceful, quiet, and dark with a clear sky so star gazing was an option too...Outdoor seating, if you delight in a glass of wine at the end of the day.... Cheers Ingrid, Matt (hope you're back too good health) and to Knight Arthur...because that's just what you are...A Knight to the Rescue, Thank You Arthur, hope you made the Rugby Team ....take care all of you. “Wonderful” Ok so what is the very worst that I can say about Bramble Cottage? That would be that the bath isn't made for tall people and there wasn't a pair of tongs in the kitchen Other than that Bramble Cottage is a lovely place to stay beautiful views, clean fresh air and complete peace and tranquility. You can see thousands of stars because there's no ambient light, you can hear the wind the sheep the horses and the sweet free roaming chickens. The owners are lovely people, friendly and welcoming, and the fresh fruit and eggs a wonderful welcome. The cottage itself was clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were comfortable with warm quilts and extras in the wardrobes if needed and cleaned fluffy towels were in plentiful supply. The twin room where our daughter slept was a bit chilly, as it is built into the ground that's to be expected, but a cardigan or jumper was all that was needed to combat that, I also recommend the wearing of slippers or the equivalent inside as the lovely flag stones are cold under foot at any time of day. The Cottage has everything you could possibly need for your stay and we thoroughly enjoyed ours.
