'The Byre' is our luxury holiday home, situated in rural tranquillity on the Somerset / Devon border - a perfect location to relax, or explore the surrounding area.

'The Byre' was newly converted from an old farm building in the latter part of 2010 - and has been let out from late 2010. Set in a rural location on the Somerset / Devon border, 'The Byre' is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area or visiting the numerous attractions. It is situated just 200 metres from the Grand Western Canal nature reserve - with excellent walking, fishing and cycling along 12 miles of canal.

Further afield are the historic town of Wellington, the Blackdown Hills and of course the open expanses of Exmoor. The coasts of West Somerset, North Devon, and South Devon, each with their unique features, are also easily accessible

Normal changeover day is Friday, but this can be flexible outside of the peak season (May - August) and can also be flexible for late bookings subject to availability. The website is set to allow inquiries for any check-in day, but please note we try to restrict this to Friday in the summer in order to keep prices down. Please note this is a self catering holiday let. Check in is usually 3.30pm; check out 10.00am

As well as being an excellent base, we set out to make a luxury holiday home as well, so you can relax away from it all. 'The Byre' is furnished throughout in oak and leather, has superior beds and soft furnishings, a fitted kitchen and a state of the art TV (LED backlit with Blu-Ray player / home cinema) plus TV/DVD in both bedrooms.

'The Byre' has a delightful open plan kitchen / dining room / lounge with a newly fitted kitchen, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, ceramic hob and oven. The lounge features under-floor heating, a log-burning fire, and a high definition LED backlit TV, with blu-ray/DVD home cinema, and CD player. The master bedroom is furnished in oak, has its own TV/DVD player, and en-suite with shower. The second bedroom features twin beds, convertible to a 'super-king' double bed. This room also features its own TV/DVD player, and gives access to the master (jack-and-jill) bathroom

The Byre is situated in an elevated tranquil rural location overlooking open farmland. There is a large terrace, stretching the length of the property with patio doors from both the master bedroom and the lounge. On the terrace is a luxury 6-person hot tub (from Coast Spas) providing perfect relaxation all year round. Private barbecue facilities and seating are also provided. The Byre is just a 200 metre walk from the Grand Western Canal nature reserve - superb for walking, cycling, fishing; hire boats are also available from Tiverton.

Wonderful get away!

The Byre is the most wonderfully peaceful get away, set in a rural location overlooking beautiful fields. The house has everything you need and was perfectly set up for our young family.
