"Disappointed with comfort"
For people with back problems the seating was too soft and too low;no support at all.The fact that gas is chargeable should be mentioned in the publicity. For a 4 star rating one would expect a dishwa… More
In answer to Mr Chapman's comments I wish to point out that nobody else has complained about my suite during the whole year.
If he had requested a firmer suite due to the problems with his back I would have tried my best to find an alternative sofa for him. He did mention it on his departure but it was too late for me to act on the information by then.
I will also be buying a firmer suite as I take guests' feedback on such issues very seriously.
Visit Wales' grading guidelines for a 4 star property states the following: 'Towels to be available with or without extra charge.' This is different to a 5 star requirement which is 'Towels to be provided and included in hire cost. Bwthyn Conwy is a 4 star property and I supply towels when requested at no extra charge. There is no requirement to provide soap and I have found that most visitors prefer to bring their own.
Gas is extra by meter reading so giving quests the freedom to use as little or as much as they wish.
The price of Lpg gas now has made it impossible to let guests use as much as they like without charge as this could amount to about £60 in a week if used continuously. We apologies that Mr Chapman had not realised this and have now re-phrased it on the website to make sure that it can't be miss-interpreted.
A dishwasher is not a requirement for a 4 star grading which I have been awarded for many years now. The overall grading score awarded to us by Visit Wales are well above the amount necessary for receiving 4 stars.
My current certificate to show the grading was on display in the kitchen for Mr Chapman to see.
I was very disappointed to read Mr Chapman's remarks as I normally receive only kind messages in my visitors' book.
I consider most of the visitors that come to my holiday cottage friends by now as they return year after year to see us and it is that that makes me continue to let it.
