What a cutie of a flat! Cosy, clean, well equipped & welcoming. Quiet & away from hustle & bustle, a quick bus journey took you to the city centre. Cream tea on arrival is a welcome treat after travelling. Lots to do & see in Torquay & the surrounding towns and villages, you will not be disappointed. Had minor queries which were dealt with Straightaway by the lovely owners. ONLY downside was the bed was very uncomfortable. …
Kents Cottage Torquay bear beaches, great location, wonderful restaurants
Torbay Summer break
The cottage was clean, quiet, well kitted-out, and in an excellent location between Torquay harbour and Babbacombe.
With a pub and a small supermarket around the corner, and a bus-stop for those who need it, it is an ideal place to explore Torbay from.
The only negative is Kent Lane has a lot of deep pot-holes that need repairing before becoming hazardous to negotiate.
Overall, an excellent base and one that we would be very happy to return to. …
Apartment in Torquay with hot tub and sea views.
Absolutely amazing. Couldn't have had a better holiday. Accommodation was the best and exceptionally clean. Very surprised and couldn't be more grateful!!! …
Lovely well equipped property and a great location
We booked this property to stay for a week over half term with family which included children of varying ages (9, 7, 4 years & 11 months) and grandparents. The owner, Ian was at the property to greet us on our arrival, which was a lot earlier than the check in time. However Ian was more than accommodating by letting us leave our luggage at the property whilst we then went to explore the surrounding area and wait for the rest of our party to arrive.
When the property was ready for us (earlier than the stated time of 4pm arrival) Ian showed us around. The house was very clean and tidy and there was ample furniture to cater for us all. In fact throughout the entire week we didn't find that we needed anything, the house was equipped with everything you required. There was a T.V in the lounge which had a full sky package and even the option to download movies on demand. There was also a DVD player and access to wifi. The kitchen was fully functional with all the necessary appliances including a dishwasher and washer/dryer. There was also all cleaning products, dishwasher tablets and washing powder provided. There was plenty of plates, dishes, glasses etc and all other cooking utensils.
As we had a baby with us it was extremely useful that the property was child friendly and came equipped with a high chair, stroller, cot and stair gates. This certainly saved an awful lot of boot space as we knew this before we travelled.
The bedrooms were a decent size; the second floor consisted of one room with a king size bed, an ensuite and a t.v with free view. There was also a large twin room which had a t.v, games consoles and an array of toys and games available to use. The first floor had a room with a queen size bed, it also had a wooden cot and a t.v with free view , there was another twin room which was slightly smaller than the other twin but still a decent size, again with a t.v in there and there was a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.
The property came with a relatively small outside space at the back of the property but the space had been maximised to its potential with a garden table and chairs, a retractable washing line and the main attraction - a hot tub.
This was the cherry on the top of the cake. The children thoroughly enjoyed it as did all the adults. It was what one needed after a long day walking to soothe away those aches and pains!!!
There is a garage available at the back of the property but we didn't need to use this. As for parking, we had three cars and did not find any issue with parking. There is a road at the side of the mews as well as the main Meadfoot Sea Road which have no parking restrictions on them. We were always able to find a space and this was during half term as well.
The location of the property is good. It is in a lovely area of Torquay and within walking distance of the town and harbour. However, it is quite hilly and a good stretch of the legs. Meadfoot beach is very close which has a lovely cafe and beautiful views.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Torquay Townhouse and we would definitely recommend it. …
