Description from owner
Situated at Home Farm Holiday Centre, this property is fairly private and is set in a large semi enclosed garden with bushes and shrubs with a gateway to a large field where children can play cricket etc. Very peaceful location. The property has double glazing throughout. There is an entrance hall which leads to the main bedroom that has a full size Victorian brass bed with feather duvet, bedside cabinets and double wardrobe and dressing table. There is an ensuite bathroom with a bath, toilet and sink. The second bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. There is a galley kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, microwave, oven and toaster. The living room consists of flatscreen TV with DVD and comfy corner sofa. Porch doors lead to decking with table and chairs, there is also another large table and chairs in the garden. There is a second bedroom leading from the living room with a bunk bed, this is fairly small and is closed off from the living area with a curtain. The child's bedroom has a TV but for use with DVD or Ipod only.
Iphone 4 and 5 and iPad chargers. Books and DVDs available for use. Electric blanket in the winter months. Wifi available free of charge.
There are sun loungers and cushions available in the cabin so you can relax in the large garden. There is an indoor heated swimming pool (that is on a booking system so it doesn't get crowded) situated next to the site office. There is a bar on site with entertainment most nights at the height of the season. They also have barbecue and theme evenings and live music on occasions. There is access to the beach, which has a lovely waterfall, from the site and is good for walking (dogs accepted all year) and fishing. There is a small children's play area next to the beer garden/cafe There are also laundry facilities on site with two washers and two dryers. There is also a shop selling produce, accessories and gifts.
Home Farm is a fairly small but very pretty and friendly site which is pet friendly and is a great place to walk your dogs. There are two walking fields as well as the woods and beach. Also there is great walking with spectacular views all within easy access of the site you are free to use the facilities on site.
Dogs are rent free! Up to max of three well behaved dogs! Please note that dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Dog bowls are available to use
The cabin is heated by plinth heaters and there are individual heaters for use too.
Home Farm is a great base for lovely walks, good food and nearby pubs and fossil finding too! Also the iconic West Country Steam Railway, you can often hear it from the cabin. Various stops in Bishop Lydeard, Dunster and Minehead - a great day out!
Check in is from 3pm and check out is 10.30am on day of departure so we can get the cabin ready for our next guests.

“Prefect retreat for a peaceful weekend”
Lovely little accommodation, very clean and lovingly prepared for our arrival by Jayne. We had a great time, the beach is 5 min walk away and amazing for hiking, fossil hunting and playing. Our kids loved the bunk beds and the beach, so they want to come back soon. The area around is of great natural beauty and I am keen on exploring the hills next time. Very quiet accommodation, you can hear the owls at night and the sky is full of stars city dwellers like us rarely see. If you need a time out this is the best place.

Wow! What an absolute jewel of a place. The lodge is beautiful and so Cosy. It’s fully equipped with everything you need. The position of it is just gorgeous and the camp itself is one of the best we have visited. Great location for visiting surrounding area. I highly recommend the lodge and site.

We really loved it here. Cabin is very comfortable, lovely good quality furnishings with everything you need. The outside space is fabulous with your own garden and gate to a huge field which our dog thought was his and kept running off!! Our daughter loved the pool and park. The site it's on is great with a nice walk to beach and coastal path. We have never returned to any place we have holidayed before but would definitely book here again.

Most of the previous reviews have said it all about this cabin. Unlike the other caravans and campervans in their regimental rows, Briard's Retreat is tucked away, edged by a bank of mature shrubs and trees with its nearest neighbour a good 30 metres away, affording it privacy and beautiful views over a mown field and across a wooded valley. A tiny gate opens onto the field for access. Imagine having a field to run around in! It couldn't be more perfect for dogs. The on-site shop, information desk and pub are run by friendly ladies who are Oracles: They know the area like the back of their hands. The local beach is dog friendly, full of interesting stones and there's more than one waterfall, there's a wide sandy expanse at low tide too. Everything in the cabin is as described; it's comfy, homely and has everything you could need. A two minute walk away is the laundry room. The washers and dryers are big so can take a large load. Washing machines are £4, dryers £1. We dined at the nearby Windmill Inn twice. We found the food to be good and the kitchen very accomodating - being vegan, I appreciated this.

“Beautiful peaceful retreat”
We stayed in briards little lodge on home farm and it was perfect for dogs and the lodge was well equipped with everything we needed. A home away from home, we didn't want to leave. Beach was just a couple of minutes walk and lush woodlands and country side situated right outside the lodge. Will definetly recommend this place for dogs owners and couples.

Superb place well equipped and very comfortable. . Excellent location. . Dog heaven and great relaxing place for the humans too.. we really enjoyed walking along the beach to Watchet. .. loved it thank you Jayne

“Dog friendly place.”
You feel so at home the minute you walk in. Coco our dog actually thinks the field behind is an extension to her garden it is so well located and private. Will be back next year.

“Just what we needed :)”
This place was just what we needed. Easy to find, with everything that you would need. Definitely a home away from home with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds! Nice and quiet and within easy access to a range of places. Our little dog loved running in the field at the back of the cabin. And the children got good use of the swimming pool (mostly had the whole pool to themselves, very surprising during the middle of August). They also loved the small playground and table tennis. We went on wonderful walks in the surrounding woodland area and also took the short walk down to the beach and saw the lovely waterfall. Only fault we had was even though wifi is available, signal was poor from inside the cabin. Will definitely be planning on returning. Thank you for a lovely stay.

“Our own little piece of heaven!”
We stay here every year, sometimes twice. We love the peaceful location and the very dog friendly beach. Could not think of any where nicer, it's close to Minehead if you want a little town to wander around and lots of other places to visit, like Tropiquaria and Wooky Caves.

- How do damage deposits work?
In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Jayne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
