Location description from owner
The England region
The combination of countryside and coast makes West Sussex a great holiday destination. Over half of the county lies in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The South Downs National Park has plenty of walking and cycling opportunities. A varied coastline of shingle beaches, cliffs and swathes of golden sand wait to be explored. This region is known to be one of the sunniest areas of Britain.
Portsmouth, with its Historic Dockyard and Spinnaker Tower, is a short drive or train ride away.
A visit to the Isle of Wight or the vibrant city of Brighton is possible within a day.
There is plenty of culture to be found in Chichester with its well renowned Festival Theatre, art galleries, Tudor cross and Norman Cathedral. The shopping is also good, with designer label boutiques, stylish restaurants, cafes and gastro pubs.
Butlins Holiday Park in Bognor Regis offers day passes for a fun family day out.
Selsey, nestling between the South Downs and the coast, represents the classic English seaside resort - perfect for family holidays and cosy winter breaks. Ocean Views is exceptionally well located within Selsey with direct access to the popular East Beach. There is an excellent children's playground and recreation area, where older children can be supervised from the balcony.
The house is very near the free public slipway, ideal for launching ribs, and this is a popular spot for divers. There are plenty of fishing trips on offer but failing that, don't leave without sampling some of the locally caught lobsters or crabs, bought directly from the fishermen or sampled in one of the sea front cafes or pubs.
A five minute walk from the house past the duck pond will bring you to a parade of shops with a greengrocer, baker, newsagent, convenience store and diving shop. The parade also includes restaurants or takeaways ranging from Chinese to fish and chips. Selsey's traditional high street, a ten minute walk from the house, has even more to offer in terms of shops, restaurants and pubs.
Walking along the promenade will take you past Selsey Lifeboat Station to the popular Lifeboat Inn. The Lifeboat station, has an interesting museum to find out more about its history and work. You might be lucky enough to watch the Lifeboat launch.
The Oasis leisure centre, in Selsey, has a wonderful indoor pool with lazy river offering a good wet weather option for your holiday
Pagham Nature Reserve, a SSSI, is nearby and provides a haven for birdwatchers.

“A Great Family Christmas”
We spent a really enjoyable family Christmas at Ocean Views. The house was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The lay-out is slightly unusual in that there is a large kitchen on the ground floor with a small dining area to the side. One double bedroom is on this floor and also there is a shower room with toilet (not ensuite). The lounge covers the whole of the second floor with patio doors leading to a terrace overlooking the sea. On the third floor there are three more double rooms (one with bunk beds and one with two single beds) and a family bathroom. This house was ideal for our party of eight. There was plenty of room for everyone with the opportunity to find a quiet spot if required. Selsey itself is probably an acquired taste but it does have a certain old fashioned charm. The beach is pebbly but the sandy beach of West Wittering isn't far away. There is a green and children's play area directly opposite the house. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too kind to us so we didn't see much of the surrounding area. All in all we had a wonderful Christmas and I hope we can visit again.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your comments. We look forward to welcoming you back to Ocean Views.
