'Wightsands' has the perfect location just 300 metres from the lovely large, soft sandy beach at Appley, a mere 4 minutes stroll down a quiet leafy lane

It's a stylish modern detached home in a very quiet Close.

No need to worry about finding a parking spot and paying pounds to park up as you can just leisurely stroll down to the beach from your front door within about 3-4 minutes :-)

There are several free, enclosed childrens' playparks to amuse the little ones and plenty of cafes to tempt your tastebuds and invite you to linger a little longer to relax and enjoy the ready supply of sun, sea, sand and sea views!

If you are feeling more energetic there's plenty of scenic walking or cycling you can indulge in.

Our Holiday home has been lovingly refurbished with care and attention to detail so that you can just relax and enjoy

Patio doors lead out into the child friendly, private garden, where you can dine alfresco on the patio , while the children explore all the toys on offer in their very own 'playden' or play with the sand and water table Peace and quiet for you and plenty of fun for the children!!

There is even a view of The Solent from over the fence in the back garden. Watch the boats as they sail to and fro.

Separate dining room, good quality bathroom and kitchen with those little gadgets to make your holiday a little easier and a good size light and airy lounge.

There is one step into the porch then one more to inside at the front, although at the rear of the property there are 4 steps down to the garden

Appley is on the fringe of the vibrant seaside town of Ryde so is quieter yet still only a 10 minute stroll along the sea wall if you want an array of restaurants or pubs to dine at in town. Ice -rink, bowling alley, children's funfair and boating lake are just some of the activities you can enjoy all just a few minutes walk away...no need for a car!

You can wander along the sea wall in the other direction to the quaint village of Seaview, where children will enjoy rock hunting on its pebbley beach and crab catching from under rocks.

There is a bus station on the seafront serving most parts of the Island as well as a taxi rank.

Getting around

Ryde bus station servicing all of the Island is just a 15 minutes stroll along the seafront from Wightsands. Hovercraft over to Southsea is also here and the catamaran over to Portsmouth then a train up to London in 1.5 hrs. Taxi rank is also to be found on Ryde seafront.

Absolutely wonderful cottage in perfect location close to parks, central Ryde and the beach. Spotless, well equipped kitchen, nice furniture and appliances. The garden is perfect for children and was a nice place for us grownups to sit and relax. Very friendly owner!

This was the 3rd time that we've stayed at Wightsands and it was just as fabulous as always. Wightsands is a comfortable home from home which is beautifully decorated. Everything you could ever need is provided by the friendly and helpful owners and nothing is too much for them. The kitchen facilities are great and there's a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. We have two young children (3 & 1) and all the equipment that you need is available. High chair, bed safety guard, travel cot, pushchair and the best bit is the amazing play shed in the garden! This is full of a variety of toys which our children loved. The home is in a great location, just a short walk from a beautiful beach and park. There are shops close by and a large supermarket just a short drive away. The IOW has loads to offer and there's information provided on various activities and places to visit/eat at. I can't praise Wightsands highly enough. The owners really have thought of everything and more to make your holiday wonderful.

The owner, Eileen, was super efficient and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The little extra's we found on arrival like wine and chocs were really appreciated. The bungalow was homely and a great base being just minutes walk from the beach and playgrounds but in a nice quiet cul de sac. Everything had been thought of for a smooth and relaxing stay for a family. The second bedroom had been made up with children's pink bedding especially for my daughter, there were lots of children's crockery and cutlery, a bed guard, stepper for the bathroom, lots of great games, DVDs and books for my 3 year old to play, and so much more, and then there was the amazing play shed which kept my daughter quiet and busy for hours. I feel torn writing this review as I want to keep the place secret so it's not too booked up if we want to go back to the Isle of Wight! A really great place to stay for families.

Excellent communication from the outset - Eileen was prompt, friendly and helpful. Wighsands is easy to get to from the station, on a lovely, quiet street. The fact that it was spring, flowers were out in full bloom and the sun was shining and birds singing, all helped.... but I can imagine the place being lovely in any season. The bungalow is superbly furnished - modern, comfy and homely - and well-equipped. A lot of thought and care has clearly gone into all the details. I loved finding plaques and magnets with little uplifting thoughts all over the place! The welcome treats were a thoughtful touch and appreciated. Nice big kitchen. The bed in the master bedroom could have been a bit bigger, but it just made for cosier sleeping, to look at it positively! A nice big garden with a shed full of toys, to add to the cabinet of books, toys, puzzles and DVDs in the lounge. Less than 5 mins walk away from the beach. Beach toys and towels provided. One of the nicest holiday rentals we've stayed at in a while & we hope to be back one day!

The cottage is really good for young families as they have so many toys, games and DVDs for the kids to enjoy on wet days, and the play den in the garden is really well equipped with toys. It is really beautifully furnished, exceptionally clean and tidy and the location is excellent for the beach and exploring the Island. Had a lovely week in spite of the weather. Would definitely go back.

Lovely bungalow in easy walking distance of the beach. Kids loved the garden and shed full of toys. Wi-fi access appreciated by the grown-ups! Well equipped and maintained property with lovely touches to make you feel welcome. The owner always responded quickly for any questions we had before and during the stay.

This was a great place ,clean and furnished to a high standard .It was very well stocked with everything you need for a good holiday even beach equipment in the garage. Lots of toys in the play house in the private garden. The location was brilliant, quiet but am minute from the main road and 5 minutes from Tesco . We walked to the beach several times- directions were in one of 3 or so folders of information and leaflets for local attractions. Lovely big TV as well as a DVD / video player with a good selection of titles to watch . Overall I would recommend Wightsands to anyone - we have already booked for next year.

This house was fabulous. The decor and the furnishings were beautiful. Very clean and comfortable. The play house full of toys was a big hit with the children as was the garden. Very close to the beach, fun fair, restaurants. Perfect!! Did not want for anything!

Wightsands was a great property, and we really enjoyed staying there. Our young (nearly 3 year old) daughter had terrific fun with all the toys & books, and the welcome and small touches made us feel very much at home. It's only 5 minutes walk from a lovely beach, which we made the most of!

The added touches in the property made it feel like home rather than a holiday let. The garden was a secure area for children with plenty of toys and their own little house made the holiday relaxing. The location of the beach in walking distance allowed us to leave the car behind.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
