Built in the 1890s, 16A Tron Square is cosy with a comfortable feel, with both the building, and the apartment having been recently completely refurbished. Sitting just a short stroll downhill from Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile, and in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has all of Edinburgh's main attractions almost literally on it's doorstep. The apartment is ideally suited to 2 people. However, with the sofa bed it can accommodate up to 4 guests.

The apartment is set out on one level on the ground floor, consisting of a well-stocked, contemporary kitchen with microwave, electric hob and oven, fridge, freezer and a washing machine. The lounge/kitchen has a double sofa bed, TV and free Wifi .... perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring Edinburgh! The double bedroom has a small built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a bedside table. The apartment also has a new, luxury shower room and toilet.

Despite being just a thirty second walk from the hustle and bustle of the Royal Mile, 16A Tron Square offers quiet and peaceful accommodation. The apartment has been awarded 3 star rating from Visit Scotland, is south facing, and looks out onto a sunny courtyard area.

The apartment is situated in an ideal location for the many other special events that are organised in the city throughout the year such as the Edinburgh Festival, Edinburgh International Tattoo, Bank of Scotland Fireworks, and the Famous New Year Celebrations. Also within easy walking distance are many of Edinburgh's tourist attractions such as Edinburgh Castle, National Museum/Art Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh Dungeon, Scottish Parliament, Scots Monument, and Holyrood Palace.

The Edinburgh region

Edinburgh, like Rome, is built on 7 hills, the most famous of them being the dorment volcano 'Arthur's Seat', Calton Hill and The Castle Rock. The Castle Rock has a 'tail' or ridge that was carved out by nature during the Ice age, it runs from Edinburgh Castle down to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and measures slightly more than 1 mile (Hence the name The Royal Mile). 1000 years ago this ridge became Edinburghs first road. Today, it is known as 'The Royal Mile'. The apartment is set halfway down this beautiful and ancient route. One of Europe's most beautiful Capital Cities, Edinburgh is the centre of Devolved Scottish Government, the second largest centre for European financial management after London and is home to the annual International Festival of the Arts and it's famous 'Fringe'.

There is so much to see in Edinburgh from the cobbled streets of the Old Town to the beautiful Georgian avenues of the New Town. it is a city of beautiful contrasts blending shopping, historic attractions, gardens and plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can relax.

Art Galleries, Museums, Theatres, Cinemas and Concert Halls contribute to a rich cultural life.

The City also plays regular host to many National & international sporting events and is a Mecca for shopping with many designer and specialist outlets.

There is a huge choice of venues for eating & drinking at every level and price imaginable.

"Edinburgh Fringe 2015 - The return!"

We were delighted to find the location of the apartment was literally round the corner from The Royal Mile, however once down Old Assembly Close and in Tron Square you would never know the hustle and bustle that lies ahead - very quiet apart from the occasional revellers returning in the wee hours making a short cut through. The apartment is equipped to a high standard and we found everything we needed. Our son and his fiancé joined us for 4 days and although the sofa bed in the living area was perfectly adequate, it's a little tight for 4 adults, that said, due to the weather being exceptionally kind to us, apart from sleeping and breakfast we were out and about the rest of the time. A very minor detail was the lack of recycling facilities and the forest of flyers/newspapers/brochures that the fringe generates had be thrown in the bin! Would definitely recommend 16a Tron Square to anyone looking for accommodation in the heart of it all!

It is always a striking contrast to leave the busy Royal Mile after sightseeing all day and in less than a minute be through the front door and in complete peace and quiet with the kettle on for a reviving cup of tea! 16A Tron Square is hidden away in a peaceful south facing courtyard which can feel very sleepy and not at all in the heart of the city. We are pleased you had a good time staying in the apartment, and for recommending us. "Excellent location, great attention to details"

I stayed at 16A Tron Square with two kids and my husband. The place is very conveniently located, few minutes from bar and restaurants on High Way and 10 minutes from Edinburgh Castle. The flat is very comfortable, with everything you might need (hairdryer, ironing set, wifi, very well furnished kitchen), and very clean. Great attention has been given to every detail, that makes you feeling home. It is much better than it looks on picture. Definitely recommended.

Tron Square is a very safe place for children as it is fully pedestrianised and very quiet. Plus, as it’s right in the city centre, everything’s on the doorstep! "Tiny and ultra convenient"

The flat could not be better located to enjoy Edinburgh - it is literally yards from the Royal Mile, but quiet and secluded. The flat itself was wonderfully clean and well presented. It is VERY small (edging around the bed to get to the boiler rapidly loses its charm), but for a city break it is perfectly adequate for two people - the front room is also very cozy in the evening if you should wish to stay home (but why would you?).

"Excellent location close to Royal Mile"

We loved the location of the accomodation. Although a little steep it was very close to The Royal Mile close to the Castle, great eating places, and shopping. We only had a couple of days so didn't explore further. The flat had all amenities and although small was quite comfortable. The only drawback was very little space around the bed. enjoyed our stay

"Great place to stay while visiting Edinburgh"

We truly enjoyed our stay in this apartment for several reasons. It is located in an ideal location, close to the Royal Mile, within easy walking distance of most of the top sites in Edinburgh. it provides a quiet refuge after a busy day of sightseeing. It truly felt like our home away from home with the extra touches the owner has provided. It is by far one of the best apartments we have let in our travels.

"Very Convenient!"

You couldn't ask for a better location! Right off the Royal Mile. My husband is on oxygen so we thought the ground floor apartment would be perfect, as he would not have to climb stairs, but this apartment is down an extremely steep road, and so he did have trouble coming and going from there, but otherwise it was perfect for us!
