“Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location!!”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2016

This apartment is beautifully finished with everything you need for a cosy stay. We were greeted with a range of welcome treats which really added a lovely touch. A 10-15 minute walk will take you into the heart of Edinburgh. So many beautiful restaurants and cafes in the area. This really is a hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone! We are already planning our return. Thank you Stuart and Wendy for what was a wonderful few days in Edinburgh!!

Thank you so much for leaving feedback. We are delighted you had a great stay and also enjoyed the location … we believe the apartment offers the best of everything Edinburgh can offer - peacefully set within the UNESCO world heritage site but within walking distance of the busy city centre, and a couple of streets from fashionable Stockbridge. We are so pleased you are looking to return and we'd love to welcome you back again in future, S&W

“Excellent would recommend”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

The apartment was central for all attractions and surrounding area of Edinburgh. The complimentary gifts of Prosecco, chocolates and a wee dram (well more than one!) we're a lovely touch and a treat! It was definitely a home from home, clean, cosy and had everything you could possibly need. Instructions and communication from Stuart ( the owner) were very helpful and friendly. We would certainly stay there again.

We are really pleased you enjoyed staying at 28A Cumberland Street. We work hard to ensure it is a place our guests will love staying in so much they come back to stay again! Our aim is to provide comfortable, homely accommodation with a touch of luxury, situated close to many of Edinburgh's attractions. Thanks very much indeed for your feedback - we hope to welcome you again in future! S & W

“Beautiful Georgian Terrace”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2016

The holiday flat is semi-basement at the front and first floor at the rear, the hills are spectacular. This apartment has high ceilings, is well furnished and extremely well presented. This was our first visit to Edinburgh so everything was exciting but the apartment was the best surprise. The nearby shops will probably change, but, when we went there, there was, within 300 yards, a fantastic Italian deli (cannoli to die for), a friendly pub and a lunch restaurant (best cake in Scotland 2014 & 2015) I asked about 2016 and they giggled probably because their cakes are obviously still the best in Scotland.

Thank you for leaving such a full review of your stay at 28a Cumberland Street, and also of all of the local pubs, cafes and delicatessens. We certainly agree with you, there is so many independent businesses on our doorstep we are spoilt for choice! We hope your first visit to Scotland isn't your last! W&S

“Excellent and recommended for your trip Edinburgh”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2016

This apartment is described as a home from home, a well used cliché you may think, but in this case absolutely spot on. A wonderful place to return to after very busy days exploring Edinburgh and surrounding areas. I could not recommend it highly enough. Will be the place I stay when returning to Edinburgh. Located centrally for everything you need to see in Edinburgh and the surrounding area.

Thank you for leaving this review. We take pride in ensuring our guests feel at home as soon as they arrive at 28a Cumberland Street. We believe that comfort is vital when away from home and special touches here and there can make all the difference. We thank you for your comments and hope to be able to welcome you when you visit the city again. W&S

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased you had a great time at the apartment, and discovered the delights of Stockbridge, which adjoins the New Town area. We would love to be able to welcome you again if you chose to return to Edinburgh. S&W

“Such a gem! Luxury and comfort in the heart of Edinburgh!”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2014

We were amazed by this beautiful flat offering your own piece of luxury in Edinburgh New Town! The elegance of the flat is met with a very cozy atmosphere, with tasteful accents of Scotland throughout. We arrived to a beautiful reception of whisky, and a thoughtful card and Prosecco in honour of our daughter's graduation that week. Stuart and Wendy accommodated our early arrival that day, and we wish we had a chance to meet them in person; very lovely people! The flat itself is located near Princes Street and all the great shopping and sites- Stockbridge Market (which takes place on Sundays) is a short walk away, definitely worth a visit! The number 27 bus is conveniently located a minute from the flat, which will take you up the Mound and through to the Royal Mile. The kitchen is well stocked if you are looking to cook during your stay, and the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Cannot recommend this flat enough!

Thank you for leaving such a lovely review! It is always our aim to ensure our guests have a holiday to remember, and we were delighted to be able to help you celebrate your daughter’s graduation. We are so pleased you enjoyed the comfortable and luxurious style of 28A Cumberland Street. We want our guests to relax the moment they arrive at the apartment because we know that sightseeing in Edinburgh can be hard work! There is so much to see and do, that we like to think of our guests having some time to relax in comfort at the end of a full day! We of course would also have been pleased to have met you too … perhaps next time?! Stuart & Wendy x

“Beautiful, cozy apartment with excellent Location”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2014

We stumbled upon this property while we were rigorously trying to book a 3 nights last minute stay in Edinburgh. The dates of our stay incidentally were the busiest for Edinburgh owing to the Edinburgh International Festival and the Fringe. We were quite not finding the right place since this was our first trip together and everything thing was heavily booked. We were glad to have found an availability at Stuart & Wendy's Cumberland Apartment and much to our surprise it was a wonderful choice. We loved the apartment from the moment we set foot inside. The house was very well done, neatly kept and comfortably stocked. The bottle of wine and the Scottish sweet treats kept by the hosts was indeed quite thoughtful and welcoming. About the interior - The living room area was my personal favorite. It was the perfect mix of contemporary, minimalist yet it had that dash of Old Vintage Scotland with the mantle pieces and other artifacts. We loved the interiors. Kitchen was comfortable and conveniently stocked with all the essentials. About the location - We were looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the festival time yet not too far from all the major attractions & must see places. And this was just that. Very conveniently located at just a 15 to 40 minutes walk (approx; we quite didn't time it) to all places you'd want to visit i.e Princes street, Old Town, New Town Castle, The Royal Mile. major Restaurants, Bakeries etc. Its pretty accessible. However, the only downer for us was no concrete/fixed Parking facility. We had our own drive and parking was an hassle. They had free parking only from after 5.30 in the evening till 8.30 am. So every morning we had to get up to get the parking tickets with was a little bothersome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was a good and comfortable time spent at 28A Cumberland street for us. A nice & cozy apartment for a couple or few friends.

We are delighted you chose 28A Cumberland Street for your first trip together! We know it took a lot of organising to combine arrival times from Dubai, but we are pleased it has all worked out well for you. Thank you for leaving such a detailed review. We pride ourselves on the little, personal touches that will make our guests feel welcome and comfortable. Yes, there is a dilemma everywhere in Edinburgh regarding parking. Many of our guests who choose to bring their car during the week have used the free park and ride facilities and travel by tram or bus into the city centre. Alternatively it is possible to pre book car parks which works out more reasonable. Our weekend guests are lucky enough to have free street parking on their doorstep! A definite bonus! We know your partner left her hair straighteners behind, and we were pleased to be able to reunite them with her at your convenience before she returned to Dubai! Perhaps we can welcome you again in the future?! Regards, Stuart & Wendy

“Just right.”

A perfect sanctuary on quiet Cumberland Street, just a short walk from the city centre. The flat was light, spacious and nicely decorated - in fact I'd go so far as to say the pictures don't do it justice! It had everything we needed for our 5 night stay plus a few thoughtful extra touches. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for leaving this review! We pride ourselves on our personal service and we’re delighted you have some lovely memories of your stay at 28A Cumberland Street, and of beautiful Edinburgh. We have tried to make the apartment really comfy and welcoming, so guests feel at home as soon as they arrive … we are also pleased you enjoyed our extra touches! Please know that you will always be warmly welcomed if you chose to return, Stuart & Wendy

“Spacious bijou apartment in excellent location”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2014

I loved staying in this apartment. I was actually working rather than on vacation and it was a lovely relaxing place to come back to after a long day. I liked the decor, everything was easy to operate and the bed was super comfy. I loved the location too and the street was really quiet which surprised me. The Cumberland Pub along the road was great - restaurants nearby. The only thing I missed was the ability to make ice for drinks however that would not deter me from staying again. Loved it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review. We are delighted you felt comfortable and relaxed in the apartment. Our aim is for 28A Cumberland Street to feel like a home from home, with some luxurious touches, that make it feel super cosy! We are always happy to welcome Executive/Corporate guests, many of whom have mentioned the location is perfect if working in Edinburgh - just 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre and, as you mentioned, really peaceful and relaxing to come back to after a long day. We couldn’t believe we had forgotten ice cube trays in the freezer but be assured they are there now! Thank you for highlighting this, S&W.
