Built in 1820, 28A Cumberland Street is a one bedroomed lower basement apartment that can sleep 4. The apartment has a pretty and sunny courtyard garden to the front and a pleasant outlook over a leafy, cobbled Edinburgh lane at the rear. The whole apartment has been renovated in 2014 in a traditional, funky Scottish style that is cosy, comfortable together with luxurious touches. The apartment is also suitable for executive and corporate bookings but not for children under 16.

The one bedroomed apartment has a kingsize zip and link bed that can be split into 2 singles, 2 bedside tables, chest of drawers and built in wardrobe. There is a contemporary bathroom with a bath that also has a shower over. The large, comfortable living room has a cosy living flame gas fire with 2 modern fireside chairs and a leather sofa bed that comfortably sleeps 2 additional guests. There is a TV and free wifi. The kitchen is newly fitted and modern with everything our guests would need including

Upon arrival the beds will be made up with luxury Egyptian cotton bedlinen, with fluffy towels for each guest. All gas and electricity usage is included in the price.

The apartment is situated in an ideal location in the heart of the historic New Town, just 10 minutes walk from Princes Street. Even closer to the vibrant area of Stockbridge with its cafes, restaurants and independent shops. 28A Cumberland Street is ideally suited for many other special events that are organised in the city throughout the year such as the Edinburgh Festival, Edinburgh International Tattoo, Bank of Scotland Fireworks, International Rugby, Champions of Tennis event and the Famous New Year Celebrations. Also within easy walking distance are many of Edinburgh's tourist attractions such as Edinburgh Castle, National Museum/Art Gallery of Scotland, Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh Dungeon, Scottish Parliament, Scots Monument, and Holyrood Palace.

Good bus links, plentiful taxis and tram service nearby mean 28A Cumberland Street is well connected to all parts of the city, including Edinburgh Airport, Waverley and Haymarket train stations. Ample parking is available in the street; parking is free at weekends and from 5.30pm to 8.30am Monday to Friday and metered the rest of the time.

“Great apartment and Stuart very helpful !”

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely apartment - extra touches bottle of bubbles and biscuits. Also early check in and late check out can't wait to return. We enjoyed shopping and the eating out in the Stockbridge area which is nearby especially Leo's beanery (breakfast) and Rollos !!

“Wonderful appartment, well appointed and in a perfect location”

We had a wonderful stay, spotlessly clean, ample room for 4 people. Just a 10 minute stroll from the city centre. Would recommend this appartment to anyone and would deffenately stay here again as edinborough is such a lovely city

“Such a gem! Luxury and comfort in the heart of Edinburgh!”

We were amazed by this beautiful flat offering your own piece of luxury in Edinburgh New Town! The elegance of the flat is met with a very cozy atmosphere, with tasteful accents of Scotland throughout. We arrived to a beautiful reception of whisky, and a thoughtful card and Prosecco in honour of our daughter's graduation that week. Stuart and Wendy accommodated our early arrival that day, and we wish we had a chance to meet them in person; very lovely people! The flat itself is located near Princes Street and all the great shopping and sites- Stockbridge Market (which takes place on Sundays) is a short walk away, definitely worth a visit! The number 27 bus is conveniently located a minute from the flat, which will take you up the Mound and through to the Royal Mile. The kitchen is well stocked if you are looking to cook during your stay, and the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Cannot recommend this flat enough!

“Beautiful, cozy apartment with excellent Location”

We stumbled upon this property while we were rigorously trying to book a 3 nights last minute stay in Edinburgh. The dates of our stay incidentally were the busiest for Edinburgh owing to the Edinburgh International Festival and the Fringe. We were quite not finding the right place since this was our first trip together and everything thing was heavily booked. We were glad to have found an availability at Stuart & Wendy's Cumberland Apartment and much to our surprise it was a wonderful choice. We loved the apartment from the moment we set foot inside. The house was very well done, neatly kept and comfortably stocked. The bottle of wine and the Scottish sweet treats kept by the hosts was indeed quite thoughtful and welcoming. About the interior - The living room area was my personal favorite. It was the perfect mix of contemporary, minimalist yet it had that dash of Old Vintage Scotland with the mantle pieces and other artifacts. We loved the interiors. Kitchen was comfortable and conveniently stocked with all the essentials. About the location - We were looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the festival time yet not too far from all the major attractions & must see places. And this was just that. Very conveniently located at just a 15 to 40 minutes walk (approx; we quite didn't time it) to all places you'd want to visit i.e Princes street, Old Town, New Town Castle, The Royal Mile. major Restaurants, Bakeries etc. Its pretty accessible. However, the only downer for us was no concrete/fixed Parking facility. We had our own drive and parking was an hassle. They had free parking only from after 5.30 in the evening till 8.30 am. So every morning we had to get up to get the parking tickets with was a little bothersome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was a good and comfortable time spent at 28A Cumberland street for us. A nice & cozy apartment for a couple or few friends.

Many of our guests who choose to bring their car during the week have used the free park and ride facilities and travel by tram or bus into the city centre. Alternatively it is possible to pre book car parks which works out more reasonable. Our weekend guests are lucky enough to have free street parking on their doorstep! A definite bonus! We know your partner left her hair straighteners behind, and we were pleased to be able to reunite them with her at your convenience before she returned to Dubai! A perfect sanctuary on quiet Cumberland Street, just a short walk from the city centre. The flat was light, spacious and nicely decorated - in fact I'd go so far as to say the pictures don't do it justice! It had everything we needed for our 5 night stay plus a few thoughtful extra touches. Would definitely recommend.

“Spacious bijou apartment in excellent location”

I loved staying in this apartment. I was actually working rather than on vacation and it was a lovely relaxing place to come back to after a long day. I liked the decor, everything was easy to operate and the bed was super comfy. I loved the location too and the street was really quiet which surprised me. The Cumberland Pub along the road was great - restaurants nearby. The only thing I missed was the ability to make ice for drinks however that would not deter me from staying again. Loved it.

“Cosy place”

Beautifully renovated place and feel in love with it the moment you walked in! We didn't have a car but city centre is only about 10min walk, located in a quiet residential place. There is also Tesco superstore and Sainsbury local nearby. Highly recommended! Would definitely come back!
