Getting around

Milngavie itself is a lovely pedestrianised village 6 miles from the centre of Glasgow. What makes it such a most desirable area is that it sits on the edge of beautiful countryside yet has the benefit of being well connected to other parts of Scotland by road and rail. There are 4 trains each hour into Glasgow city centre, each taking between 20-25 minutes. The town is also close to an abundance of transport links - eg. ROAD (M8, M74, M77, M9), plentiful rail connections (eg. direct train to/from Edinburgh), airports (GLA/EDI) and ferry terminals (eg. Greenock/Gourock/Stranrar).

“Happy Days”

Two wonderful hosts, a wonderful house in a wonderful location. Easy access to Loch Lomond and beyond. One of our young people was ill during our trip which needed a visit to hospital. Chris and Frances (the owners) could not have done more to support us in this situation. They went over and above kindness and made a difference. We would book this house again just because of the location and the main living area which is superb. But we would also book it again because of two very good people.

Owner's reply: Our heartfelt thanks to Steve and his group for their kind and courteous words and other displays of appreciation during their stay. It was all the more fulfilling to see this theatre group's youngsters make full use of the wider garden area and trampoline for their R&R. We were honoured guests for a superb mini 'show', and glad the open-plan living area satisfied spatial needs for the troupe to practise indoors. Although your guest numbers had to vary because of the illness and leaders' other commitments, we're especially glad that a group of up to 20 could make good use of the villa. Trusting the 'english patient' has made a full recovery, we would love to see everyone for a return visit. Haste ye back, Chris
