Location description from owner

The England region

Lytham, described as a coastal gem, with all of its charm and beauty is the ideal destination for a special break away or a family holiday – all year round. The dual seaside towns of Lytham and St Annes-on-sea bring together their coastal views, rolling sand dunes, well tended lawns, pretty parks and a beautiful boating lake to form a wonderful seaside resort, brimming with character.

This seaside haven is located to the South of Blackpool – whose World famous attractions, such as Blackpool Tower and The Pleasure Beach, are just a short journey away along the coast.

Lytham St Anne's

There is something to do for all of the family, whether you want a romantic walk along the picturesque coastline, a family day out to St Annes Promenade, a round of Golf at one of the World's most famous courses or you're drawn in by the bright lights and glitz of Blackpool.

Golf

Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club, one of the World's most decorated Golf courses, has been a venue for the Open Championships for over 100 years – hosting the tournament a total of 10 times, most recently in 2012. This premier course has also hosted the Ryder Cup on two occasions.

If you're looking to test your skills on a Major course, against the professionals and visitors from across the globe, then this challenging Links course is for you. Visitors to Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club are warmly welcomed all year round.

Royal Lytham isn't the only Championship Golf course in the vicinity; St Annes Old Links – the sand dunes and westerly winds make this an unpredictable course, Fairhaven – this idyllic countryside course is used as a qualifying course for The Open Championship, and the beautiful Lytham Green Drive, which is host to several top class golfing events.

Food and Drink

Lytham is well stocked with fine dining bistros, restaurants, wine bars, traditional inns and real ale pubs – a unique range to suit all tastes.

Lytham Beer Festival takes place in September, annually. It's a chance to sample real ales, ciders and bottled beers from all over the World.

Entertainment

Since 2009, The Lytham Proms Festival has been an annual weekend musical event featuring such performers as Katherine Jenkins, Status Quo, Alfie Boe, Belinda Carlisle, Boyzone and Olly Murs. Each year the event takes place on Lytham Green, infront of the famous Lytham Windmill.

This place is perfect in every way. The cottage has everything you need and if it hasn't the owners will sort it out right away. Very friendly and approachable. The cottage was very clean with lovely furnishings and the welcome gifts were very much appreciated. It is also just round the corner from many shops, reataurants, seafront and bus stops to more places along the coast. I would love to stay here again.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Thyme Cottage, thank you for you lovely review
