The West Wing of an historic mansion house, situated in mature private gardens overlooking the Solway Coast. Set just 200m from the shoreline, this distinctive property has ready access to a variety of coastal activities, ideal for beach holidays, watersports, coastal walks, golf, fishing and cycling. The perfect location to experience secluded and tranquil escape in the countryside.

A perfect retreat for family holidays, the newly renovated accommodation is equipped to the highest of modern standards, while retaining much of the original Victorian architectural character and charm.

The house provides a lounge with spectacular panoramic coastal sea views, a large dining hall with feature log-burning fireplace, a traditional farmhouse kitchen, 4 bedrooms including 1 king size suite with ensuite bathroom, 2 double rooms and a twin room with adult size bunkbeds and a separate daybed (suitable for children under 14), a family bathroom with bath and separate shower, a cloakroom with WC, and a separate utility room with washer/dryer. Externally, there is a sea-view terrace, a large lawned garden with adjoining stream, a one-acre 'walled garden' suitable for ball sports and ample parking for several cars.

“Stunning views whatever the weather”

A great place to stay - we fell in love with Dumfries and Galloway. So much to do and see; great walks, including crossing to the island at low tide; good coffee shops, galleries and restaurants in Kirkudbright; a comfortable and spacious property; absolutely stunning views throughout the day and night - both when the sun was shining and while it was blowing a gale.

Lovely property and extremely well equipped plus two ovens in kitchen! Excellent layout with views of the Solway from the main rooms. Plenty of outside space to relax and or play.

A home from home, lovely house with a pretty garden, near the beach, well kitted out for cooking big meals. Close to the Dumfries biking trails. If the weather misbehaves it's a pleasant place to chill out. The service on booking was excellent.

What a place! On approach, the first time, it is like driving up to your own stately home! Inside it is cosy and comfy. Lovely wood burning stove and all the comforts of your own home! We were there for the Thanksgiving Holiday and we cannot wait to return. Our vacation included 6 people and there was plenty of room for everyone and lots of nooks and crannies for time alone, reading, reflecting or whatever too. The kitchen is great and the common rooms are great for family time and game playing etc.. JUST what we were looking for! Make sure to go for Ice Cream at Cream O Galloway nearby!!

Great long weekend to get away from the city with a group of friends - we have stayed here 3 times now. The property is a good balance of character and convenience, a great old building, always immaculate upon arrival, well equipped for a group of 8 to cook, dine and lounge. The location is ideal - very close to the coast for super views of the sea, and some great hikes and bike rides. Sitting out in the garden with a glass of wine whilst the sun drops on the sea is a real treat! Nearby towns are well worth a visit, even if just for the fantastic fish and chips and hot smoked salmon! Kirkudbright in particular is well worth a visit, a lovely harbour town with a castle and a few nice art galleries. Booking is always straightforward and the owners have been very helpful with directions and suggestions for things to do.

How do damage deposits work?
