"Superb venue for special celebration with large group of family and friends"

Prior to booking Skendleby Hall we were offered the opportunity to look around and check out the facilities - including the essential catering facilities. Booking was easy on-line and reassuring contact was made at certain points prior to our stay with offers of help/advice/questions answered etc...We and one hitch with a fuse tripping - David the owner was with us within 5 minutes to put this right - we should have been able to do this ourselves! On the day of our arrival we were met at the property by the owners and again shown around the (very large) property, explanations of certain things, and fire/safety information, and general orientation around the property!!. Skendleby Hall is a magnificent property - pictures really do NOT do it justice! Our weekend celebrations surpassed all our expectations - and this was in no small part to do with the delight of staying in the Hall. The splendid drawing room is comfortable, elegant, wonderfully appointed (as is the rest of the house and its many reception rooms) and comfortably accommodated a large gathering. The kitchen was great to work in - and had all the equipment necessary - and the use of another separate kitchen with spare equipment - perfect! The dining room is long and elegant and we managed to accommodate 27 people for one of the lunches very comfortably. Apart from the Drawing room the other reception rooms allowed for people to have some space from the bigger groups - and the music room with piano was a great space for evening entertainments and morning movement and dance groups! The jaccuzi, steam shower and sauna were all enthused about by those who tried them out. Without exception everyone commented on the comfort of the mattresses and quality of bedding - and a real bonus is the provision of a bathroom for each bedroom - a real bonus especially in a group of both family and friends. And as with the downstairs rooms, all the bedrooms were unique in decor/style, interesting and tastefully furnished. What did we like best? - the space the Hall afforded us for being together as a family and still having room to invite friends in. What did we like least? - having to leave....

It was a pleasure to have you and your family at The Hall and thank you for all your kind comments - we are always delighted when people enjoy their special celebrations. We hope you will be able to return to Skendleby Hall one day.

"Our Awesome Wedding Week"

We decided to hold our week long wedding celebrations at Skendleby Hall as it was the only venue we could find with enough accommodation, wedding licence, kid and dog friendly along with an utterly unique backdrop that would make our day so very special, all our guests were in total awe of the venue as well. Ruth, Gillian and David could not do enough to ensure our stay was as perfect as possible giving us some excellent ideas and helped to ensure our day went exactly how we wanted it. We used their recommended local caterer, who provided an absolutely superb service for the whole day, and they also helped us source a great deal on a bouncy castle - we can not fault the experience in any way. We embraced a fully DIY wedding bringing our own flowers, decorations and drinks, not being tied to a package definitely worked for us and gave us exactly what we wanted. Also being self catering meant all of our families could do what they wanted for food etc and weren't tied to meal times. We cannot recommend this venue enough to anyone who is looking to get a large group of people together for a few days what ever the occasion :-)

Thank you for such a lovely review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your wedding week at the Hall. We certainly enjoyed helping.

"A stunning house with lots to do"

Skendleby hall is a beautiful building set in a stunning part of the country. The house is huge and there's no end of entertainment inside. The owners are very friendly and live moments away, meaning they are at hand should you need them. There's WIFI, a stereo in the kitchen and a decent sound system in the drawing room. Also there's a huge projector screen to watch movies on rainy days, which is a treat. The sauna and steam room is a real highlight. However, it is chemically treated each night so an evening in the hot tub is sadly out of bounds. I'm sure if you ask nicely though, the owners would make arrangements.

Thank you for your lovely review of the Hall. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon.

"What more could you want??"

The Hall was booked as a surprise for a group of friends over a long weekend, it was simply fantastic. Everyone was amazed by it all and thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend, especially the kids. It was one of the best weekends away that we have shared, which will never be forgotten. It will be very hard to beat??

"Sixtieth Birthday"

What a fabulous place. Took the whole of the family to celebrate my wife's sixtieth. Graet big house that is full of character and classic furniture but strangely enough you don't worry about the kids who thought it was brilliant for " Hide and Seek". Had a meal cooked in by their resident caterer which was excellent. Just a short hop to the coast Not the cheapest but go on spoil yourself. a memory to be cherished

Thank you for the great review - much appreciated. Ruth

"Perfect weekend break for 18 of us"

Our highlights were: the splendid drawing room - ideal for relaxing with the newspapers and for pre dinner drinks, the music room, plenty of activities to keep our 10-17 year olds amused, well-equipped and much-used kitchen, full size billiard table.

"An amazing house for a large group vacation."

25 of us spent a fantastic long weekend for our annual family get-together ( this was our second visit to Skendleby Hall ). On arrival the house, grounds and setting are most impressive. We received a very warm welcome and made to feel immediately at home. Inside, the house is enormous, the rooms are very well furnished, extremely comfortable and fantastically equipped. We made full use of the kitchen facilities and had a great time all sitting down together for long dinners. Around the house, the full size snooker room, grand piano, games rooms ( table tennis, table football etc) were all used to the full and outside much fun was had playing crocquet and cricket on the lawns. The setting is delightful, looking out over the rolling countryside of the Lincolnshire Wolds, but sadly the weather this year intervened in our plans to make full use of the barbeque facilities. Over the years we have stayed in a number of large houses for family get togethers, but Skendleby is right up there at the top of my list for its quality, comfort and facilities.
