Offering luxury holiday accommodation for 6 Rusko Stables has been lovingly restored and converted from the original stables and coach house for Rusko House. The first floor apartment has a large and welcoming open plan sitting room/dining area and fully fitted kitchen with wood floors and furnished to the highest of standards. The 3 King size bedrooms with zip and link beds are all provided with en suite shower rooms. The conversion has married superb contemporary living with the character of the original building including original beams and showing off the heritage and character of the former stables, coach house and groom’s quarters, all ensuring a memorable and a luxurious holiday experience.

The apartment is set in the grounds of Rusko House ensuring peace and tranquillity, at the rear of the building is a spacious barbecue terrace complete with a firepit and unlimited logs ready to make a night of al fresco enjoyment. There are excellent views out over the adjoining fields to the surrounding hills and woods beyond. At night time it makes an excellent spot for star gazing, enthusiasts can also visit the Galloway Forest Park and Scottish Dark Sky Observatory at Dalmellington, near Ayr.

Attractive walks may be accessed direct from the Stables and it is only a brisk 30 minute walk into the Historic Town of Gatehouse of Fleet; the town is a popular tourist destination with many excellent cafes and hotels together with access to the wonderful “Bluebell” Cally Estate woods. South-West Scotland is ideal for holidays and abounds in touring opportunities, historic and cultural sites or sporting activities. The former might include visiting National Trust properties at Broughton House in Kirkcudbright, and Threave Gardens outside Castle Douglas whilst the latter would obviously involve golfing with courses too numerous to mention, including the town's 9-hole course just a mile away.

The wonderful Solway Coast with spectacular contrasting sandy beaches and rugged cliffs are a short drive away and there are also excellent outdoor opportunities for horse-riding, bird watching and walking in local forests for wildlife. Biking enthusiasts have many choices with the Forestry Commission's 7Stanes Mountain Bike Routes are all close to hand.

Guests can also arrange Art lessons with the owner who is a professional artist at the nearby Rusko Studio. Please ask for more details.

Rusko Stables is let weekly Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks are welcome outwith High & Peak periods, at all other times they are accepted if booked within 28 days of arrival.
