Quiet and peaceful location, away from day to day life, surrounded by the natural beauty of nature, and facing directly out over the Moray Firth, this fisherman's style cottage is ideal for a special or romantic break or just for a great family holiday. Stunning walks from the front door along the beach, cliffs, harbour or to neighbouring villages. Dolphin spotting can be done without getting up from the sofa.
Ideal location for touring this beautiful corner of Scotland whether it be the Castle trail; the Whisky trail, or day trips to the many small villages along this coast.
Weekly bookings only on a Saturday to Saturday basis. Prices for rental are fully inclusive. (Egyptian cotton bed linen; towels; electric; a basket of logs for the stove, etc - we have no hidden charges)

Seafront Cottage is fully equipped which includes the following:- Dish washer; wood burning stove; underfloor heating; stunning open view through a picture window to the Moray Firth - 3 metres away; built in bluetooth docking station with integral sound system to play your own music; separate sound controls in bathroom; luxurious bathroom with bath and shower; fully fitted kitchen with ceramic hob; king size bed and two singles all with egyptian cotton bed linen; fantastic picture window 6ft x 6ft directly on the sea and protected by shutters; hand made spiral staircase to upstairs; large wall mounted flat screen television; binoculars and viewing scope; Wi-Fi etc.
Open plan living/dining/kitchen area on ground floor, fully fitted tiled bathroom, with two bedrooms upstairs with the main bedroom having a window looking directly out to sea. Fall asleep to the serenade of the waves lapping against the seawall directly below you.

Directly on your doorstep you have the seafront. Walk along to the end of the road, join the beach and walk along the seashore under the sandstone cliffs. Climb up to the ancient graveyard up on the hill to St Johns Church (built in 1513) and enjoy the view back over Gardenstown and Gamrie Bay.
There is a small car park approx. 100 metres away, with further parking round the harbour area, approx. 200 metres away. You can stop to unload directly at the door. there are no parking charges or timed restrictions on parking in the area.
Geocashing friendly area.
Added for 2015 - we have now installed a dishwasher in the cottage (who wants to do dishes while on holiday?) and we have also added a new viewing scope, as well as the binoculars we have always had so you can more closely watch the wild life on the shore in front of the cottage and out to sea.

Have just returned form this cottage after a brilliant week with my husband and son. Never been to Aberdeenshire and would recommend. Cottage was fabulous. Very very comfortable and warm with quality linen throughout. Have used a lot of holiday cottages and this has been one of the best we have stayed in. Other holiday makers in village jealous and wanted to stay in our cottage. Think the owner will be receiving several requests. Use this cottage. FABULOUS.
“A perfect place”
When arriving in Gardenstown we were delighted with the quaint atmospere of this picturesque village, the spectacular beauty of the surroundings and the magnificent view. The Seafront Cottage is a very beautifully refurbished little house, comfortably and tastefully furnished, with all amenities we needed. But most of all the view from the picture window is stunning. To marvel at the sea just a few feet away is a unique and unforgettable expercience. Strolling about the village and up the hills, to Crovie or Troup Head(bird watching) was so relaxing! The people in the village are extremely friendly. We also enjoyed the Moray Coast Trail and trips to Fraserburgh, Banff(Duff House), Elgin. Another highlight was visiting some of the distilleries of the Speyside Malt Whisky Trail. Dinner at the Harbour Restaurant was an outstanding pleasure. My husband, our sons(24 and 22) and I had an absolutely great week. We hope to return one of these days!
What isn`t there to like about sitting on a comfortable sofa , nursing a glass of liquid nourishment , gazing out , through a huge picture window , at the sea just a few feet away ? . When you get the urge to do something more active then walk the coastline and , having worked up a thirst ( there`s a theme developing here ) decamp to the village pub , a good old fashioned boozer with quantities of good food that illustrates mine hosts view of the horrors of nouvelle cuisine . Sated and content , return to the cottage and let the sound of the waves send you off to the land of nod . Repeat 6 times and go home fully relaxed and ready for the fray .
“amazing cottage so close to the ocean, everything and more that I hoped for”
This cottage is so well fitted out and renovated. It is 13 ft from the ocean and a early morn walk on the beach is a must. Gardenstown is a one pub town but the friendliness of the people make it into a very special place. Seafront cottage is in my view the best place to stay

As soon as we arrived at the cottage and saw the view from the fantastic picture window, I knew I wasn't going to want to leave. It took my breath away. The cottage itself is pure luxury with gorgeous pieces of artwork dotted around. We were there on 5th December when the massive storm hit & even in the wild winds with the waves crashing over the roof, the house was still toasty warm. I loved the underfloor heating! Also, I was amazed that not one drop of water came through the doors or windows during the storm. Other cottages in the area were badly damaged. So, even behind the scenes this cottage has been built to a very high standard & with great care & attention. Everything you could possibly need is provided & it was sheer bliss to climb under the covers on those lovely egyptian sheets & fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The locals are very friendly & welcoming & a lot of dog walkers come by so we often went outside for a chat..a great way to learn more about the area. There is so much to do if you can bring yourself to leave the comfort of the sitting room & that view! I cant recommend this cottage & location enough & we are already counting the days until we return.
We stayed for a week ,it was the best week we stayed anywhere for a long time,the location if some what remote it made up for it by the views and atmosphere , the seafront cottage was modern but quaint beautifully finished decor,had all amenities we needed,it was warm ,cozy,and very relaxing . We had a full size patio window looking out to the sea,it was beautiful . Well worth the money anytime of the year well done on an excellent renovation of a fishermans cottage . Perhaps a few photos of the work that went into it should be placed around the cottage .cant fault it in any way .
first impressions:- sitting in a very comfortable sofa or armchair- warm- drink in hand looking out at a seascape 3 metres away through a 2 metre square window at birds, maybe dolphins or minkie whales or porpoises ( if your lucky) in a beautifully moderrn cottage. wonderful. second impressions lots of interest in the area. we spent a fantastic 2 weeks and will return
