The iconic Liddell House was built in 1958 by the wealthy local builder of that name as a penthouse-styled beach-house to be gifted to his daughter. It was designed by his friend, the rfamous architect Peter Yates, of the local Ryder Yates Partnership, and included a number of ground-breaking design concepts. These unique key features have been retained & sympathetically enhanced whilst keeping the house true to the original concept.

Liddell House features on Page 29-30 of the "Ryder & Yates" book by Rutter Carroll. A fantastic & completely unique Townhouse on 3-levels, with stunning panoramic views from four very large windows on two elevated levels of Tynemouth Longsands towards the Boating Lake, Lost World Golf, revitalised Art-Deco styled Park Hotel & Cullercoats. Wow! as guests have frequently said as they walk into the lounge for the first time.

The Townhouse featured in Professional Photographer Magazine courtesy of Richard Hanley & following a 2-day location shoot. Third Films Limited has also shot a short film at the Townhouse for a Film Festival entry. The Castell's also completed a promotional video that features on You Tube:

A welcome pack is always provided for guests, which includes a box of Thorntons chocolates, a bottle of red & bottle of white wine (champagne for premium booking periods) etc. Tea, coffee, bread, butter, milk & a pack of chocolate biscuits. Fresh towels and ironed bed linen are also provided. Also a selection of 60's CD's and around 40 DVD's. Really all you need to bring along is a book, toothbrush & some of your favourite 60's DVD's and CD's!

Floor 1 The heavenly Hall with amazing & unique preform latticed ceiling. Washroom & Utility Room.

Floor 2: Stunning mirrored and sculpted ceiling Lounge with original 1958 hand-painted tile fireplace, two very large picture windows offering unrivalled views across Tynemouth Longsands, the Boating Lake & towards the Art Deco styled Park Hotel. There are still many original features, complimented by 60's themed furniture & ornaments, which will on occasion be changed to enhance the experience afforded by this period setting - pictures may differ slightly due to updates which include a 43" widescreen plasma TV, Hi-Fi & Blu-Ray DVD player etc. The split-level design affords access to a mezzanine floor with a fully equipped and ultra-stylistic Kitchen & Dining area.

Floor 3: 1st Double bedroom (with King size bed ) and ensuite luxury fully-tiled bathroom including large Jacuzzi Bath. Also 43" widescreen plasma TV & DVD player. 2nd Double bed room (with King size bed ) tiled ensuite wetroom with shower, toilet, and hand basin. Mirrored wardrobes & drawer space to each of the bedrooms. A Z-bed is provided to supplement the accommodation arrangements. Each of the bedrooms also has a very large picture window again with fantastic & unrivalled views over the Art Deco styled Park Hotel, Tynemouth Longsands, Cullercoats, Tynemouth Boating Lake and the North Sea.

There is access to a shared yard area that will provide secure parking for a couple of motorcycles. Limited car parking is also available adjacent to the front of the house. Further free parking on both sides of the road on Percy Park, which is 40 yards away.
