Location description from owner

The England region

The Old Post Office is in an enviable location. It is at the foot of the South Downs National Park., which attracts many walkers and cyclists. (Tour de France rode up Ditchling Beacon one year ) it is designated an area of outstanding beauty.
Ditchling village is less than a mile away with its cafes and great pubs, there is a beautiful walk across fields or 2 minute drive !
Lewes Town which is quiet lovely having the original Bills cafe, there is a river through the centre, and lots of arty shops and cafes.
It is a 10 minute drive. Brighton is also extremely close - it is quicker to get into the centre of Brighton (8mins ) by train than if you stayed in some parts of Brighton. There is no hassle parking and you save on the horrendous parking fees ! London is less than an hour away by train.

Sussex University is also close being just over the Downs so perfect If you are visiting.

“Great Stay”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2016

The accommodation was excellent, quaint with all the mod cons. Super location that was great for coastal and rural walks. Everything in the village you need shops, pub and a main line train station 10 minute walk away with twice hourly trains to London and Brighton (well worth utilising as parking in Brighton is a nightmare). Michelle the owner left us some bubbly for our arrival which was a lovely thought, the Pub across the road was very accommodating and even let us utilise the parking facility. All in all it was a thoroughly nice stay.

“Absolutely perfect..”

Reviewed 22 Nov 2015

We stayed at the Old Post Office during a stay for my friends wedding. Michelle was a brilliant host, ensuring that we had everything we needed and was very understanding of a slightly late departure due to a few sore heads after the wedding. The location was perfect for us and the Old Post Office is beautiful and charming. Our only regret is that we weren't there longer to appreciate the beautiful area. I would definitely recommend the Old Post Office.

Thank you for your lovely review. Hope to see you again Michelle

“Perfect Location, well equiped flat, dream holidays”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2014

We had an excellent stay at the Old Post Office for 3 weeks. Both we and our little daughter (6) loved the place and the surrounding landscapes. The hospitality of the landlady should definetely be praised as well. All in all an excellent choice both in terms of accomodation as well as location. We would strongly recommend the place to all those who want to visit the South Downs.
