“Nicely appointed property in a great location”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2014

Lovely cottage that matches the description given. The fenced garden meant that the dogs could roam free without any fear of them escaping. Very nice welcome pack of quality Waitrose groceries which provided a more than adequate breakfast for two days. Do eat at the Star & Garter in East Dean which we found to be a lovely pub. Suggest avoiding the Partridge.

“A lovely bolthole in a beautiful setting”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2012

We stayed at Rubens Barn for three nights. The first was as a couple for our wedding anniversary and the second two nights with our son. The great thing about this property is that it fit both requirements brilliantly. It is snug and romantic and yet robust enough to cope with an energetic 8 year old! There is lovely attention to detail- the spec is really high and it was great to have bathrobes, nice toiletries and breakfast goodies. Rob and Rachel, the owners, were friendly and helpful and the setting of the cottage is delightful. Great local pub, walks from the door, perfect peace and quiet- we couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended.
