“Oak Cottage, Challock”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2017

I had returned with my young family from an extended stay in Australia and so was all out of sync. with UK time. Our hosts were accommodating in every sense of the word. They changed central heating times to suit our nocturnal habits whilst getting back to UK time. They accepted a very large delivery for me and got rid of the boxes afterwards. I was given a lift when I needed one. They offered to put in more appliances for our convenience. The only minor niggle was a very weak shower and, with no bath, I would have liked more. I would book here again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review of Oak cottage. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and it was lovely to meet you and your family. We will look in to the issue with the shower to provide a better alternative Nigel and Wendy

“Very relaxing”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2014

Stayed in Oak cottage August bank holiday week and have to say it was very relaxing, Wendy & Nigel were there to meet us nad were very friendly and welcoming. Oak cottage is perfect to just chill and relax in. It is also very convenient to Ashford International (into London) plus Canterbury and the coast. There are lots of lovely drives and walks nearby. A very enjoyable and relaxing week.

“Fantastic spot - and so friendly”

We stayed at Oak cottage for a few days and it really is a lovely place, down a quiet lane, in beautiful countryside. Nigel and Wendy who run it were really friendly and helpful, thank you very much!

“Charme british assuré. Accueil très sympathique”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2014

Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Nous sommes restés quelques jours avec nos 3 enfants. l'accueil est chaleureux, le cadre charmant et très reposant. So british !!!

“Great base for exploring North Downs and East Kent”

We had a lovely time. Our hosts were really friendly; arranging to get food in advance from the local barn shop was great. Both for convenience and quality. As it was February, and rather damp, I look forward to going back at a time when we can maybe enjoy some good weather and sit outside with a glass of wine on an evening. The cottage is secluded and peaceful, with great views.

“Lovely, idilic, and friendly.”

“Beautiful properties!”

I had been planning a surprise weekend away for my husbands 30th birthday and came across this beautiful cottage! Myself and husband arrived on the Friday and was delighted with the small 2 bed cottage. It has everything you need for a relaxing weekend away, stunning gardens surround the properties and provide a gorgeous view from the bedrooms. The surprise for my husband was that our friends joined us for another 2 nights in the bigger cottage next door. This cottage was equally as lovely and had the added bonus of a secluded garden where we had a few bbq's and played table tennis and bowls! We all enjoyed a long walk through the fields and woodland areas which surrounded the cottages. Nigel and Wendy we're very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. Not one of our party wanted to leave! We will definitely be returning for another stay! :)

“Peaceful, remote and friendly”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2012

Two of us stayed at Oak Cottage for two weeks whilst studying at ABDO College in Godmersham in September 2012 and have already booked for our next block in 2013. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, the welcoming off Nigel and Wendy was amazingly friendly and we were made to feel right at home. Nigels directions to the cottage were invaluable! It is lovely to be surrounded by fields and animals. The cottage is remote and feels very safe and secure but is close to Ashford and Canterbury for anything you may need. It was a bit cold to go swimming in the swimming lake but we sat down dipping our feet in the relaxing atmophere. The cottage has everything you could want and is very comfortable. Our stay was fantastic and we can't wait to get down their again.
