Description from owner

Description

This totally renovated, cosy 2 bedroom fisherman's cottage is a stone's throw from a small, secluded sandy beach, a short walk from a larger sandy beach and within easy walking distance of the harbour. The dolphins are frequent visitors to this area of coastline and are regularly seen during the summer months – keep an eye out at all times!

New for 2017 - super fast broadband!

The village has an excellent pub, The Admirals, as well as a chemist and post office, local store, and hairdressers.

The cottage makes an excellent base for exploring the area - there is plenty to do from golf, castles, whisky distilleries, wildlife watching, or just simply building sandcastles!

Findochty (locally pronounced Finechty) oozes character. Wander around the higgly piggledy narrow streets with the many multi-coloured houses to appreciate the real charm of this traditional Scottish village.

We love Findochty, we think you will too.

“Beautiful Cottage”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2017

We are just back from a weeks stay at this beautiful cottage, it really had everything you could possibly need. It's right beside the beach too which my children absolutely loved. We were at the beach every day, we went swimming in Buckie, we went to Cullen for ice cream, we went into Elgin for the day, we visited Spynie Palace & Cooper Park, we tried the massive pancakes at Baxters of Fochabers, couldn't manage the whole thing,it's huge. Even when the weather wasn't great it was still lovely being in the cottage, Clare & Steve have board games & loads of dvds to watch. We had an amazing family holiday & we hope to come to visit again. Thanks x

“Delightful little cottage”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2017

A lot of thought has gone into renovating this cottage making it a comfortable, cosy place to stay. It is spotlessly clean and has probably everything you could want. There are even towels to dry the dog offer a swim in the sea. The welcome pack was most welcome providing huge double yoked eggs, bacon and toast for our first breakfast. Even a bottle of wine for later. The road outside is quite and we could always park our car outside the cottage. It is a short walk to a small beach that was a slipway then a walk along a rocky shore to a larger beach. Climb the cliff path at the other end of the beach and you are up on the coastal walk with beautiful views over the Firth, weather permitting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at no4 and would happily book again.
