Beach Retreat is located at the quieter Southern end of Bovisand Park which is in an area of outstanding beauty.

Heads up: buy your weekly parking ticket as soon as you arrive, scroll down for more info.

Walk straight from your car, no steps, into the chalet through the double glazed glass doors and you are in a light and inviting open plan living area and kitchen. The view from both of these areas is ocean and out to sea.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine and all other necessities. A wall mounted flat screen TV with a built in DVD player and a good selection of DVD's, books and board games are also provided. WiFi is good here.

The large modern bathroom is tiled throughout and has a great shower (pump) and a heated towel rail.

The Bunk bed room has comfortable beds, a wardrobe and double glazed patio doors that open out onto a spacious private enclosed patio. The double bedroom has a comfortable bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. All duvet covers, sheets and towels are provided with extra blankets if needed. No beach towels, you need to bring your own.

Located just inside the door is your weekly parking pass, this is different from your parking ticket, both of these, pass and ticket need to be displayed on the dashboard of your car all week. Please return the pass to the chalet after your stay.

We would advise to purchase your weekly parking ticket AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE. This is a third party company and they are very strict with the timing. We certainly don't want you to get a fine.

The large rear patio is a glorious sun trap, shaded from the sea breezes and the best place to dine alfresco, you can even see the sea from here. The 6 seat table and chairs have a parasol for shade and the patio is enclosed so if you have small children they are safe and secure in this area.

The front patio has seating where you can sit to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine, all the while listening to the sounds of the sea and watching the ever changing long sunsets.

The views are jaw dropping and one never tires of the 180 degree view from the coast all the way to Plymouth across to Cornwall, Cawsands and Mount Edgecume Park. There is always something going on all year round whether its Naval boats sailing by, regattas, surfers surfing the waves, or the abundant bird life swooping past. There's something for everyone.

There are three golden sandy beaches to choose from and when the tides out an abundance of rock pools for children and adults to explore. A smaller beach is a stones throw away from Beach Retreat. I've often had that entire beach all to myself. There are steps down to the beach.

Just outside the chalet is a great spot for children to play. I've loved watching the children flying their kites, playing football and cricket or just having fun. Throughout the park there are plenty of grassy areas for the whole family to have a picnic, ice cream or just relax.

You will need to purchase a weekly parking ticket which is required by the park ( 30 pounds Summer Season Rate) from the kiosk which is 3 chalets down towards the end near the public toilets. Please purchase this ticket as soon as you arrive as the parking company are strict and we do not want you to get a fine.

The Bovisand Beach cafe is a short walk away and serves breakfast and full meals, coffee, tea and home made cakes. Next door is a shop serving ice cream and all your beach supplies.If you need more supplies then a short drive away is Down Thomas village shop with groceries, newspapers and more.

The coast path entrance is 2 minutes away, at the end of this easy walk you reach Heybrook Bay a small village set on the coast. There's a great pub here, the Eddystone which serves really good food and has a big patio with outstanding views.

Beach Retreat can be your sanctuary, an oasis of calm, yet it can be that fun beach holiday away from the hustle and bustle where the sound of the sea is always present.

Bovisand is an ideal home base if you wish to explore more of Devon and Cornwall. ENJOY!

The keys for the chalet and the parks entrance gate will be in a secure lock box on the property. The code and location will be provided when your booking is paid in full. You will be responsible for this set. You will need to purchase a “Pay & Display” parking ticket 1 wk summer 35 pounds from the parking meter.Your Visitors Pass No.78 will be inside the chalet. Place both, parking ticket and Visitor Pass on your dashboard. Your parking space is no.78 and is close to the chalet. Make sure you leave the Visitor Pass in the Chalet when you leave. Why can't I call Maggie (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Maggie (the owner) a message.

If Maggie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
