The Scotland region

The Boathouse overlooks the sea with a large playpark at the front of the property. A door leads out from the sitting room onto a graveled ground where you can sit and relax and have a glass of wine and watch the endless activities on the golden beach or why not try a bit of surfing at the surf club located along the beach. Beautiful walks along the coast await you to Whitehills, Banff and Macduff, where you will find hotels, pubs and restaurants with fine dining or why not take a trip to Macduff Marine aquarium.
There is plenty of wildlife/dolphins to see as you walk along the coast.

Banff

Central Aberdeenshire is a diverse area of commuter towns, agricultural land, valleys and upland areas that get higher as you go East towards the peaks of Grampian Mountains. You can head along the coast to picturesque fishing villages of Gardenstown, Crovie, Pennan, Fraserburgh or Whitehills and Cullen. You will find dramatic cliff top scenery waiting to be explored or hit the ski slopes at the Leicht or Cairngorms which are one hour to one and half hours drive away, or why not play on the Championship golf courses at Duff House Royal in Banff or Royal Tarlair in Macduff, five minutes drive away, the coice is yours. Why not go for a light snack at the beautiful Duff House Castle next to the golf course.
For the keen angler, why not try fishing the River Deveron with Salmon and Trout fishing a must.

“Another excellent stay”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2017

This was our second visit to the Boathouse and I hope we will be back soon. The house is immaculate with so many nice touches. So much is provided to give visitors a comfortable stay. The location is very good, close to Banff and with excellent sea views from the house.

“A really good holiday home”

Reviewed 21 Nov 2016

The Boathouse is a lovely warm (important in November!) home with everything provided. It is easy to find, in an excellent location, facing the sea and has it's own, safe, parking space. We will be back :-)

“Nice House pity about the views & noise!”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2013

My husband & I stayed at the Boathouse in July, nice house, but don't go by the gallery pictures as it is situated beside a huge caravan site. The last two nights of our stay were ruined by a circus arriving, huge lorries, vans & caravans which went on until 11pm & next night the noise of the music was deafening & generators were going until 11.30pm. The houses are not complete, the one next to the Boathouse is covered in scaffolding & garden of it has waist high weeds. Not quite the quiet relaxing view of the sea with lots of tranquil green spaces we had envisaged. I wrote a note to the owner, she said the caravan site had only opened in March after the pictures were taken but there has been a site there since at least 2006. If we had been told the circus was coming we would have changed to a different week.Loved Banff & golf course but would choose a different property next time.
