Netherby Hall - Engineer Apartment
Stunning apartment.

The apartment is fitted out to an exceptionally high standard throughout. A perfect location for a romantic break in beautiful surroundings. The Hall and gardens are being sympathetically restored and will be fabulous when completed. It’s an ideal base to explore the Lakes or even the east coast. Helen and Jane were most helpful. Netherby Hall - Middle Lodge
Amazing cottage in a lovely location

We stayed here for a couple of nights between Christmas & New Year and as soon as we arrived we were delighted with the cottage. It’s bigger than it seems in the pictures and gives a lovely homely feel. They had even put a Christmas tree up which was a lovely touch. Nice big bedrooms & a gorgeous shower room. All the amenities you needed in the kitchen & Asda & Tesco (others may be available) both deliver to this location which is good as you don’t have to worry about packing food & could just get a delivery, as we did. There is also a downstairs toilet which was very useful. The grounds are nice and great for letting your dogs run about (sometimes after pheasants ). The surrounding areas are great also. The local village has all the shops you need & there are lovely places to walk within a few miles of driving also (inc Hadrians wall). A few things we would prefer to be changed would be the security of the garden. Although it is enclosed there are big gaps in the hedges & wide rung fences at the front made it very easy for the dogs to get out. As we were next to the main road it meant we couldn’t let the dogs freely roam in the garden either. Especially at night as it was pitch black so you couldn’t see where they were either. Toddlers and small children would also be able to fit through the gaps which is an issue. Also the back door was only locked with a turn lock and not a key so you did worry about the security of it, especially as the garden was accessible as stated. These are small things that could be fixed and we would definitely recommend this to anyone without dogs or small children in its present state. However, if the garden was secured it is an amazing property and would be lovely to visit in the summer months as the garden is nice and big with a lovely seating area and if it was secure you could happily relax in there for hours in the summertime. Netherby Hall - Sir Walter Scott Apartment
A Lovely Place.

We stayed in Gardener's Cottage, from Friday until Monday, as we were attending a Wedding nearby on the Saturday. We are very glad we extended our stay as it was just fantastic. Helen from Netherby Hall courtesy called us as we travelled up. She is a lovely and welcoming host. We met her at reception and she showed us around the immaculately presented property. It was spotlessly clean and is very stylish and modern whilst retaining a homely country feeling. What an amazing and comfortable place, with views over a restored Victorian walled garden,which is used to grow produce to supply vegetables to The Pentonbridge Inn, which is also owned by the owners. A place we decided to book for Dinner on the Friday evening. We were collected in a complimentary shuttle and driven around 20 minutes to the Inn. It was just as beautifully presented and each member of staff took great care of our party of 4, even our dogs were welcomed. The food was delicious, and locally sourced. It was so nice to eat the vegetables that we saw growing in the garden adjacent to our cottage. It was so fresh and flavoursome. The restaurant certainly deserves it's AA rosettes. We enjoyed it so much that we booked to return after our friend's Wedding for Sunday lunch. This was faultless. We loved staying at Netherby Hall, and so did our Dogs, the grounds are well maintained by a team of gardeners. We have promised ourselves we will return. Hen Party Weekend

Absolutely brilliant venue for a hen party, brilliant weekend had by all in such a quirky and beautifully situated house. Despite the weather being miserable, this didn’t bother anyone as we were happy to spend our time exploring the house and having fun. The hot tub was used, and was actually quite refreshing in the rain. The property owner was really helpful, welcoming and accommodating - really relaxed and gave us a tour upon arrival. Would recommend to anyone planning a girls weekend/hen party. There were 14 of us there and we fitted comfortably, easily could have accommodated more.
