“What a lovely place!” We did not expect to stay so well for the price paied. Gennaro is a fantastic host! The house is not luxurios but very comfortable. The sea is nice and the Natural Park with its great views is at only 10 minutes walk. We will definitely return in future.

“Exception value & service” We stayed in Residence Baia di Sorgeto for a week at the end of August. I booked several months in advance via Holiday Bookings & dealt by email with Claudia, who advised me on everything from pricing to how to get there. The studio apartment was all that we needed & Claudia also advised on local resteraunts, sights, bus-service, transfers back to the port etc. Our daily routine started with a brisk walk up the hill to get a cappucino, pick up the Italian sports newspaper, buy fresh bread & provisions from the supermarkets & fruit/veg shop, then wander back for breakfast before vegging out by the pool all day. The pool was a highly pleasant warm bath temperature & the views from the pool terrace out over the Med were stunning. It really facilitated exactly what we needed which was solid R&R. Two exceptional value resteraunts within walking distance: 1. Giselle 400m down the hill was EURO25 for a litre of local red wine, a basket of bread, chefs special, a large salad & a large platter of seafood 2. The pizzeria at the top of the hill (near the bus-stop) was just a little more for a litre of local red wine, a good sized salad & two pizzas If your purse can stretch to EURO25 peak season for two sun-loungers + EURO40 for lunch, a day down at Baia di Sorgeto is worth it too. Best not to go on the weekend if you can avoid it because of the volume of local bathers ... All told an awesome stay ...

“Villa Molendi--our home away from home” We (2 couples) rented Villa Molendi for 4 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer. Silvia and Sergio was so helpful and friendly, and they went out of their way to assist us any way they could. You do need a vehicle, but it's very easy to find your way around. The villa was well equipped, and we felt at home right away. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy, the showers worked well, and everything we needed was availalble. The villa was very clean, and it was easy to keep it that way. It was nice to be able to wash our clothes; clothes line and a drying rack are available. The fresh vegetables and their own olive oil from the farml were delicious, and there's an excellent supermarket close by (Esselunga in Pescia) for food and wine! We didn't have a chance to get to any local markets, but they are available. We enjoyed some excellent meals at the villa, and it was lovely to relax outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the view, after a long day of sightseeing. The views from the villa were beautiful--nature and hill towns, and it was easy to get to Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Florence and where-ever we wanted to explore. Sergio was a huge help when we had a flat tire and needed to buy a new one--he got the tire ordered for us, at the best price, and made sure we were able to get it fixed as quickly as possible. Silvia and Sergio provide a lot of local information (places to see and things to do), and can help you find anything else that you need.

“Loved this peaceful, well equipped, stunning location.” We had a fabulous stay at Casa Bianca. The property is extremely well looked after, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped - the only thing missing is a dishwasher. it was fabulous to have breakfast outside in the patio at the side of the property and dinner in the large courtyard at the front. Loads of space inside and out. The owners Tracey and Pete were extremely pleasant and not pushy and enormously helpful with ample written information about the local area of things to do, places to eat, all of which were superb, and where to buy the local wine (Montepulciano and Trebianno, which was excellent and very cheap! It is a very relaxing place to go to with good access, with a car, to beaches, shops etc. Don't recommend the drive from Rome, if possible fly to Pescara it is much nearer.

“Chez Raz - Bobby Razler” Just enjoyed fantastic week Chez Raz. Very friendly owners, very relaxing week, and the best Italian food. Handy location for trips into Rome (less than 1 hour away), 20 km to beaches, 20 mins to lakes or lovely pool at the house for refreshing dips. Table tennis/tablefootball, plus collection of animals on site - bella and nutella the donkeys, chicho the hedgehog, Snoopy and Puppy the dogs. Private/peaceful spot, very clean accommodation - you must sample Paulas cooking!! The MacRaes

“Excellent accomodation in the Tuscan countryside” I don't often fill out reviews on the internet but feel compelled to do so for the excellent hospitality we received when staying at Casina di Rosa. The owners were ever so accomodating, meeting us and helping our arrival, providing food for when we arrived as well as odd bits for cooking with, and the house was full of books and leaflets of things to do. Towels were provided, there is a washing machine and the kitchen is well equipped enabling you to cook a decent meal; there was so much there which allowed us to settle in right away. The house has two main rooms, a kitchen/dining room and a lounge/bedroom as well as a bathroom, which was plenty big enough for the two of us staying there as most days were spent out exploring. The house is situated in the centre of a village which has a few shops and is 15 minutes away from a town which has a couple of supermarkets. The village is a little way off the road that runs between Siena and Grosseto, much of which is dual carriageway, allowing easy access around the area. I would recommend a car to explore the area though we took the bus to visit Siena, which is about 40 minutes away. I would fully recommend this accomodation, it is clean, well thought-out and provides a great base for exploring the region of Tuscany south of Siena. I would recommend visiting Siena and climbing the tower, visiting the nearby thermal springs such as Saturnia or Petriolo, and strolling around and enjoying lunch in the beautiful hilltop villages nearby.

“A lovely apartment stay in the center of Rome!” This was a great apartment located very close to St. Peter's but quiet in the evening and in a safe neighborhood. Easy distance from public transport of all kinds and a great place to rest in between site seeing without leaving the city. The apartment is lovely with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including kitchen amenities. Tastefully decorated with a nice balcony opening on green trees and A/C in the heat. It was very comfortable and perfect for our stay. The owner and her sister were terrific and went out of their way to help us when we initially lost our way. They were so kind and available for any assistance! I highly recommend this flat for the perfect stay in Rome.

“Home from home in a stunning region” We have just returned from the beautifully situated Villa Isella. Our aim was to take in a few sights but mainly to relax and Villa Isella certainly provided everything that allowed us to accomplish this. The apartment feels like a home from home. Spread over two floors, it was relaxingly comfortable, stylish and extremely well kitted out with plenty of wardrobes and storage. It’s location, in a charming setting perched mid-level on the mountainside, allowed quick access to Lake Como and Lugano but is far enough away from the main road to be free of any traffic noise and the hurly burly of this popular region. However, I was glad we had a small car as I wouldn’t like to attempt the local roads with anything larger. It is just a short drive to three supermarkets, a launderette and all the amenities that the tourist lakeside towns of Porlezza and Menaggio have to offer as well as being within easy reach of the major attractions and transport connections of Lakes Como & Lugano. The manicured large grounds offer stunning views both east and west and overlook the tranquil Lago di Piano, they also contain a decent sized clean swimming pool, BBQ and amble parking. Being gated the complex felt thoroughly secure and its permanent residents were friendly making us feel very welcome. On the few inclement days we enjoyed the extensive range of DVD’s and games. And on those evenings we didn’t feel like cooking, a short wander down the lane took us to a popular hilltop restaurant where we watched the sun set over Lugano. All the locals were very friendly and none more so than the staff there, as well as offering delightful food, they gave us a warm welcome on all our returning visits. To sum up, we thoroughly enjoyed the region, apartment and I look forward to my next visit.

“perfect peace” We stayed here at the end of August and had a wonderful time. Its tucked away up in the mountains at the 'end of the road' .The weather was fantastic and there is no light pollution here so every night the sky was full of crystal clear stars across 180*. Being high up in the hills you'll need a car of course but its no big deal to get to Florence, Rimini, Arrezo and Perugia, Assisi on day trips. There are so many beautiful villages to see it's impossible to recommend any..just look at the guide books and plunge in!..that's half the fun.Everyone was friendly and the supermarkets nearby are well stocked and plenty of markets to mooch around.I cant remember the names of all the smaller nearby villages but there is plenty of information at the cottage and do your research before you go.And take a good map for exploring off the main roads. I say this kindly:The cottage is traditional and rustic so don't expect a funky completely modernised swish pad up in the mountains...But that's the beauty of this cottage...its full of character and everything you need is here...all you want is hot water, somewhere comfortable to sleep and to sit outside every evening under the stars with good food after a hard days rambling around stunning villages. If you want five star hotel accommodation go to Rome and pay for it.We would take this place every time instead... and will go back!!!

“A dream holiday!” I would highly recommend Montecastello to anyone who is looking for a memorable holiday! We visited this property for the second time. We have two young children and this holiday was perfect for us all! The property is restored and maintained to a fantastic standard with luxurious touches to add that special away from home feel. It is spacious, comfortable and fitted with mod cons. The scenery and grounds are breathtaking. There are plenty of adventurous walks to be found as well as a wonderful restaurant close by! We enjoyed visiting the old village of Tavernelle and sampling local wine in the bar! The swimming pool at the house makes it perfect for children as well as adults. The proprietors live in a cottage set back from the main house and were extremely helpful! We found their help & advice to be invaluable throughout both our holidays! Our children now refer to Montecastello to be ‘our Italy house’!!! We can’t wait to return!!!!

“Beautiful friendly place to stay” This is a beautiful place in the countryside of Tuscany. It is located outside a small village but only an hour away from Florence and Pisa. After a hot busy day in Florence is absolutely wonderful to come back to the cool charming countryside. The owners are very friendly and around if you need anything. They speak Italian, French, and English. The house is very charming and clean with modern bathrooms. My family has stayed in several houses on this property and they are all lovely. Many people return year after year because they enjoy it so much. It is a wonderful place to vacation and just take it easy. My family has vacationed there for over 10 years and my children now 19 and 22 still want to come every year. There are wonderful local places near to buy fresh bread every day, have coffee, in the local bar and eat in many rustic places. If you are trying to have the “Italian experience” this is your place. This is a place for all types of people both young and old.
