“A great base for exploring Venice.” Casa Dea Mira is located in Castello, which seems a quiet part of the city with few tourists and plenty of local street-life, all of it safe and civilised. Part of our reason for visiting was to see the Architecture Biennale, and Casa Dea Mira is perfectly located for this, being only a few minutes' walk away, while the rest of the city is easily reached on foot or by water-taxi. There are plenty of shops nearby as well restaurants, bars and a post office.
The property is very comfortable and well-presented, located on the ground floor off a narrow alleyway and next to a canal. It is rather dark, partly because we found it necessary to keep the curtains drawn for privacy; this affected us slightly as we visited in winter, though it would probably be an advantage in summer. The heating worked well and there was an air-conditoiner too. The kitchen, though very small, was quite well-equipped for a holiday home. The bathroom was very pleasant with a good shower. The main bedroom was cozy and had plenty of storage space; we didn't use the second bedroom though it looked a good deal smaller. The lounge and dining area was very comfortable with a T.V and music system. Unfortunately we weren't able to get the internet to work on either of our devices (iPhone and BlackBerry) which was a shame, and there was no facility for playing DVDs.
Overall though, a very nice place to stay and highly recommended.
“Roof top view in central Venice” First of all, the location could not be better. Right in the center of Venice with easy walking distance to everything, but at the same time just enough off so you can escape the crowds if you want to (need to). The view is stunning and definitely worth the climb up those three narrow stairs. We would love to come back in the spring or autumn so we could take full advantage of the terrace and have dinner there or just spend some time contemplating the beauty of La Serenissima while enjoying an ice cold Bellini. The apartment itself is light, modern and perfect for 4-6 guests. It has everything you need for cooking or washing clothes and everything is clean and well functioning. The hosts are very kind and helpful and we got all the information we needed right when we arrived.

Wonderful anniversary trip
We were so happy with our stay at Stella Marina. Do not be put off by the location - that was one of the best parts. We weren't on the main island but across the way and it couldn't have been more peaceful and relaxing. We bought a vaperetto pass for the 72 hours we were there as suggested by Cristina and it worked brilliantly. We never had to wait more than a few minutes no matter where we wanted to go. There was a grocery store nearby, a fruit and veg store, a bakery and some restaurants. We ate breakfast in our flat and then walked the few minutes to the vaperetto station and arrived at the main island in a matter of minutes. The flat is beautifully appointed, just as it looks in the pictures. If I had to say a negative it would be the bathroom - it's clean and has everything you need, just a bit cramped and the fan is a little loud. Cristina met us at the vaperetto station and got us right into our flat, gave us information and maps, and left us a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. It was a fabulous get-away! …
Wonderful place to stay!
The flat is delightful and in a lovely part of Venice, within easy reach of all the main sites. Massimo is charming and so helpful. We ate in 3 of his recommended restaurants, which were excellent and reasonably priced, and we followed all of his recommended itineraries, seeing things we would never have found on our own. A truly wonderful stay, and we very much regretted not having booked for longer. …
Lovely little apartment situated in a nice quiet location yet not far from all the main attractions. Great communication throughout from the owners, can’t fault anything about the stay.
I’ll be back next year thank you for a perfect stay.
House "Fondamente Nuove 1"
This apartment was amazing in so many ways.
The location was great. The water bus stop is literally at the front door of the apartment. Elisa met us and took us inside where she showed us around and shared all kinds of information such as basic directions, favorite restaurants and local attractions.
The apartment was immaculate, well stocked with kitchen implements, towels, linens, etc. From the front sitting room you looked out at the water with the boats coming and going. Even with that activity the apartment was very quiet.
All in all, this apartment exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone going to Venice. Thanks Elisa for your hospitality! …
