Hiking & Walking Holiday Accommodation in Italy - Holiday Lettings
“Absolutely perfect!” We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our 6 days in Rome! Within 2 blocks to metro, and right outside of the Vatican! Many restaurants/shops within walking. Very large apt with full b/r, bath, kitchen, l/r, and a perfect hostess in Maria Luisa. Spotlessly clean in secure building. Perfect for 2, possibly a third if they sleep on the pull-out. We couldn't believe how lucky we were after talking to others staying in the area in smaller apartments for twice the price. There is nothing we would change, other than our residence here in the US for this lovely place. Thanks, Maria Luisa, for your hospitality.
“Wonderful Tuscan experience, perfect villa!” This beautiful villa served as a home base for our family travels throughout Tuscany for a week and I must say that it has been perfect! The pool was wonderful for the children as were the villa’s bedrooms and overall amenities. Most appreciated were the views from the outdoor pergola and from the covered veranda… we spent hours and hours just looking at the lake and enjoying the magnificent sunsets! The grounds offered a truly relaxing atmosphere as well as fun activities such as playing in the pool all day and making our own pizza in the pizza oven in the evenings! What is better than eating a pizza prepared by your own kids?
We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the wonderful town of Cortona, the Trasimeno lake as well as the most fabulous places in Tuscany! We will be back!!
“Relaxing, peaceful,, and a nice walk to the city” We had a wonderful stay. The walk to the city was an easy and lovely 20 monutes. The walk back, though 10 min longer and much of it uphill, was still lovely. Plus, the fort, whiich is on the way, has a bar with a great view.
“Relaxing and beautiful” I would recommend the Villa Fontanine as it was well appointed and the owners thought of everything. The views were spectacular and the mornings were delightful out by the pool. I even chanced upon seeing a baby deer down in the field. We hired a chef one night and had a relaxing dinner. The train was easy into town. And for those that were concerned there was no American coffee maker there is! Although after drinking espresso I think I agree with the comment that we drink brown water! I am contemplating booking again!
“Excellent holiday home, beautiful gardens and lovely situation.” The house is nicely furnished, well equipped and very comfortable, ideal for self-catering. Six of us welcomed having 3 good bathrooms. Adriana and Thomas were very helpful and made our stay more enjoyable. We did not have a car and walked to local shops in 10 minutes, the town centre in 15 and the station in 25. Chiavari is less touristy and well stocked with shops, bars and restaurants and is an ideal as a base for exploring the Cinque Terre and Portofino penisula. The gardens are perfect for relaxing with views down over the town to the coast.
Minor quibbles: the singe beds are quite narrow, the less fit will find the hill to the house steep and those with excellent hearing may hea rtraffic on the motorway. Don't let these put you off - this is a great place to stay.
“Perfect in every way - location accommodation and fantastic views” Max and Paola could not have been more welcoming! The space is perfect for 2 couples sharing or a family. The sitting room dining room is bright and spacious - everything is clearly thought out! The kitchen is stocked with so many things nothing has been left to chance. If you didnt leave the place you could live on what was provided!
It is an ideal place to stay out if season as the views of Etna are truly breathtaking especially covered in snow ! Whilst the sea is clearly visible too its a most relaxing place to unwind! Even in February i was able to sit outside - read a book and get some sun!
I would not hesitate to come back (with friends/family) or to recommend to others!
