“Amazing villa, wonderful views, temples and buffalos - a great holiday.” There were five of us with ages ranging from 6 - 60+ and the holiday at Villa con Vista suited all of us. The three children spent most of their time in the pool, the adults read in the shade of the fig tree with trips to the beach, the temples and Albanella and Matinella to shop in between.
The house itself was cool even though the temperatures were in the high thirties when we stayed. It was amazingly well equipped and spacious.
I love the Greek temples at Paestum, which was one of the reasons I chose this villa and they, and the sandy beaches were about half an hour away, once we had worked out the route ! The roads away from main roads were very rough, so watch out for this.
An added bonus which we had not expected were the buffalo farms, and we could hear the milking early in the morning and went to visit a farm.
We ate well in Albanella although it was just that bit too far to walk in with the children.
I am looking forward to returning with another part of my family in October when we hope to follow some of the paths nearby in the cooler weather.
“The best Villa ever!!!” Everything about the villa was great!! View, breakfast, dinner, pool. The hosts Marco and Pascquale were very helpful. They organized catering/music on our wedding day. The Quality was 5 stars!!!! Definitely we will back!! I am highly recommending this villa for all occasions.
“romantic and comfortable” Centrally located, La Dimora Fuori Corso allows you to walk to all the major attractions of the city. With the funicular Montesanto (200 metres far) you can go fast down to the historic center or easily go up to the elegant Vomero neighborhood.
The house is bright, well-insulated, well equipped with designer furniture. The bathroom is nice and clean. We had a really pleasant stay
“Exceptional Apartment and Location” By far, this has been my favorite place to stay in Italy. The view is magnificent, and the apartment has everything you need to feel at home. Monika and Marion are excellent communicators, and there is nothing left undone. You need a car to be here, but it is only a 5 min. drive down to the town. Staying here has made my memories of Italy very very special. I can't wait to come back!!
“perfect retreat, away from the mainstream, but close to everything you want!” my wife and me booked our stay at Raffaele's Case Monticello in Positano, because we knew it from the year before and because we were enthusiastic about it. it's a retreat, high up above Positano city. there is a beautiful view over the sea and Positano, and if you want to take part in the daily life down there, you only need to take a 15 minutes bus drive down to the sea level (or, for the sporty ones, a 40 minutes walk down over thousands of steps:-)
perfect and right in time is Raffaele's new boat, with which you can book half or full day trips. for those who want to swim and get to know the shore around Amalfi it is a perfect possibility. people who don't like to get wet feet go hiking, shopping in Positano with white wine all day long or take a trip to Pompeii
“Nice view over Positano” Mr. Raffaele is a pleasant person who gave us a lot of useful local information (buses, shops, etc...). At the arrival the appartment was in very good condition and neat clean. The view from the balcony over Positano is just fantastic. Maybe we missed some kitchen utilities (baking whisk, second cutting board, fine mesh colander), but overall we had a great time over there.
“Sun loungers, swaying palms and devilishly good food by the sea…” Welcome to Campania, where the streets are full of character and charm, and the living is easy. A stroll along the coast is all it takes to fall in love with Italy’s most magical region. Ready to discover it for yourself? Here’s our community’s pick of the best…
A trip to Campania is la dolce vita epitomised, just as Hollywood depicted it. To discover the region’s incredible story, however, you’ll need to start at its fascinating museums and villages. Rumour has it Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte and Museo Campano are amongst the best.
“Nothing can beat the food.” Soft mozzarella, arancini, croquettes, macaroni and pizza to end all pizzas. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home at one of Campania’s local restaurants. Good wine, mind-blowing dishes and a friendly welcome is guaranteed.
BY THE COAST
The Mediterranean has, arguably, never looked so good. Whether you’re admiring the azure seas from a sun-drenched piazza or catching some rays down by the ocean, Campania’s coastline is surely one of the best in the world.
Province of Naples
Known for its gritty urban areas and archaeological treasures, Naples is a destination on the rise. If you’re pursuit of authenticity, you’ll find it in abundance here. Thanks to its enviable coastal location and centuries of gastronomic excellence, Italy’s third-largest city is home to the country’s most delicious pizza, coffee and seafood dishes.
The pastel-hued buildings of the Amalfi Coast reign supreme on Pinterest boards across the world. Yes, it’s undoubtedly one of the world’s prettiest corners. The coastline’s series of soaring cliffs, olive groves, lemon terraces and tumbling villages all boast views of shimmering azure sea. And then there’s the fresh ravioli…
Province of Salerno
Salerno is a city of contrasts. Medieval churches sit alongside tattoo parlours, trendy bars are set in post-war buildings. Here, the history is rich and reinvention is rampant. Take the new ferry terminal, for example, designed by renowned British architect Zaha Hadid. Or the coastline, adorned with tempting restaurants and trattorias.
Province of Caserta
Sprawling green hills and incredible art are the order of the day in Caserta. Once admired by the Romans for the awe-inspiring amount of natural beauty, a drive around the region is one green-pine forest or orchard after the other. But it’s not just a pretty face. The local area is home to folkloric traditions and multiple Medieval villages.

Vesuvio Residence: B&B near Vesuvius and Pompeii
Wonderful and friendly B&B
Our family of four loved this house. The hosts do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The house has the dining room and a terrace on the top floor with spectacular views of Mount Vesuvius. No problem with parking on the central square just a minute walk away. Pompeii is within half an hour drive, Naples city centre, Vesuvius, Sorrento, Salerno on Amalfi coast and Caserta with its Royal Palace - all within an hour. Driving around Naples can be daunting, so you may prefer Circumvesuviana railway - the station is just round the corner from the house.
Nearest pizzeria is Al Vicoletto, just 3 minutes walk. Our favourite restaurant was Braceria Sott'ò Portone, about 10 minutes walk with a wide choice of pastas and meat dishes.
Would love to come and stay again and recommend this to anyone. …
Garibaldi Holiday House
fabulous spacious apartment
This apartment is fabulous, its very very spacious, and very clean. There were 8 adults in our party. There are 3 large bedrooms and a pull out sofa bed in the large lounge- which was already pulled out and made up for us when we arrived. We had a late arrival 21.30 -but Giovanni was waiting for us, and had left us essentials such as milk, water, juice, breakfast items, and a bottle of wine. A lovely gesture and much appreiciated.
The apartment is located in one of the busiest Piazzas in Naples so please go prepared for noise- and it was noisy, but I took some ear plugs after reading some reviews so we were prepared for it.
You will see real Naples life from the balcony. It was an experience, but thoroughly enjoyable once you got used to it.
It is a perfect location for exploring the city and all areas. The central station is a 5 min walk and from there you can explore the whole of the region, such as Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento etc., but be aware that the station is very very busy-use the information centre located as you go in to ask for help.
You can walk to a lot of the inner city tourist areas such as the museum in about 15/20 mins.
All in all -go to Naples- I had read some bad reviews about the City but so glad of the expierience .
A big thank you Manuella for the use of your lovely apartment …
Rifugio degli Dei - Afrodite
From the moment we arrived we was blown away by the amazing view...David and Anna were the best hosts and the accommodation was perfect. Waking up every morning and opening the bedroom window was the reason I chose this B+B, you will not be dissapointed at all!!! Highly recommend and we will defiantly be back, regardless of the steps we climbed to and from this place once you reach the top you forget all about it and just breath! Thank you once again, will be planning our next visit soon. Ciao :) …
Sorrento-Three meters from the sea-' Pane amore e. ... '
7 days in Sorrento
The apartment was situated in a perfect location with loads of good restaurants.
It was completely outfitted with just about everything you could possibly want in a holiday house and more. Marco and Lucy went to no end of trouble to make sure we had everything we required.
There were many extras that we had not expected and that we really appreciated.
Lovely couple, lovely apartment. Would recommend it highly. …
Three bedrooms apartment with pool and terrace
We had a great stay here. The accommodation was great for what we needed. We were high up and so had amazing views. It was clean and Gino was always on hand to help. He let us borrow an adapter for the electric, sent us to a great restaurant, organised a boat trip, he let us stay an extra night and organised an early taxi to save us staying in Naples. It was secure and gated with a couple of dogs who were very friendly but they would bark a few times if they hadn't met you to let you know that someone was about. The pool area and garden was kept very tidy and the owners were always about. There is great public transport which we used to get from the airport, to Amalfi and to Pompei. Lots to do in the area and a lovely clean pool to relax in when you get back. We will be coming back here as we felt that we ran out of time to see everything. Secure parking too but make sure you have a tiny car as the local roads are narrow. A great find with great owners who were happy to help and offer advise if you wanted it. …
This house is in a beautiful location at the top of a mountain with fantastic views - it is clean , comfortable and has everything you would need for your stay and the host is most helpful.
