“Most Relaxing Self Catering Holiday on Skye” We have just had the most wonderful week on the Isle of Skye. This cottage is first class - no matter the weather. The sun shone for most of the holiday and we only had one day of rain (the cottage is so comfortable and the panoramic views so pleasing, we were more than happy to stay indoors). Everything you could possibly need is available and the owner is especially welcoming and helpful. There is an abundance of wild life on the doorstep (birds, rabbits, otters & Sea Eagles). The cottage is approx 7 minutes from Portree by car and is very central for visiting the whole island. My husband and I have no hesitation in recommending this as a first class establishment.

“Nice stay” Weather was great and a very tidy cottage that we enjoyed staying in. A picnic bench in the back garden would have been great to sit out on and enjoy the sun!

“Simply wonderful.” I have been visiting Skye for 20 years now, ever since I was a kid. I have stayed in various places around the island with my family and later with my spouse, and I can honestly say that the Skeabost Wood Cottage is my absolute favourite of all. It's beautifully decorated in a minimalist (but not cold) style, with nice rustic touches around the place and an amazingly comfy sofa. The kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of crockery and post/pans so that we could even entertain guests (my parents, who were staying in Portree and were very envious of our abode!) The master bed is very comfy, and the blinds were sufficient to block out the near-midnight sun on a clear summer's night. Also the location was perfect for us - being nature-geeks we don't like to be in the (relative!) hustle and bustle of town, so the peace and quiet but still very convenient location of the cottage (5/10 mins drive to Portree) was perfect. During our stay we spotted hares, a redpoll, willow warblers, bullfinches and even an eagle soaring high above the cottage one glorious sunny morning. I can't say enough about the place. The hosts have been communicative and friendly throughout the booking process and everything went perfectly. I certainly hope we'll be back in future!
