Properties on Holiday Lettings can be sorted/ranked in the following ways:
Orders properties using various data points, in particular: ratings, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, minimum number of nights, and data relating to the interest in/bookings of the property through us, including the advertiser’s rate of providing quotes to travellers who make enquiries. Other factors include price, property capacity, number of photographs, location, amenities, appearance in search results, page views, and the advertiser’s responsiveness and cancellation rate.
Price low to high / high to low
Orders properties based on either (i) the property’s minimum nightly price, if the traveller has searched without dates, or (ii) the average nightly price for the applicable week of the year, if the traveller has input dates.
Orders properties by total number of reviews attached to the listing (highest to lowest), irrespective of average score. Where there is a listing with the same number of reviews as another (or a listing with no reviews), properties are sorted according to their proximity to the searched location.
“Cuckoo Cottage, Luskentyre, Isle of Harris” Wonderful week’s stay at this charming cottage overlooking Luskentyre beach on the Outer Hebrides island of Harris on the southern half.
The cottage was everything that we had hoped. Plenty of space for the two of us and clean and tidy. We have no hesitation in recommending the cottage and its fantastic location. We shall return as soon as possible.
“Lovely, comfortable chalet with everything you could need” Really comfortable, clean and cosy chalet. Lovely views across the bay. Everything you could need, really well stocked. Very warm - would be lovely any time of the year. Great WiFi. Brilliant for us and our little terrier.
“Small but perfectly formed” Wish I lived nearer to the person who did the renovations. Such high quality. Only one grump - lighting in the bedroom was too dull to read in bed. Otherwise a lovely apartment.
“Absolutely fabulous” We had a wonderful stay at Tigh Na Mara. The house is beautiful and comfortable and is in a fantastic location right on the Loch and with a burn at the side of the garden. We had breakfast watching otters play in the Loch and also saw porpoises on our first day! It was a great base to explore the beautiful scenery and history of Harris and Lewis! Our host Eva could not have been more professional, helpful and approachable. We will definitely be back.
“Comfortable and Cosy Cottage near Tarbert on Harris” Four of us recently spent a week in this well-appointed cottage overlooking Tarbert Bay on the Isle of Harris. It's only a few minutes drive from Tarbert yet stands in a very rugged location with only two other properties in view.
All the rooms are a good size and the beds very comfortable. Just be aware that the only WC is in the bathroom so if there are six guests you might need to consider a bathroom rota!
All the downstairs rooms have electric storage heaters and the two upstairs bedrooms have convector heaters. We found the whole place was cosy and warm with just the storage heaters in the kitchen, lounge and hall but there is a built-in fan heater in the lounge if you need a quick boost.
All in all, this is a very nice cottage in a quiet location. It is well cared for and the owner made us feel very welcome. We have been self-catering all over the UK for over 40 years and this is the first time a cottage owner has taken the trouble to telephone us soon after arrival to make sure everything was OK.
We recommend this property without reservation.
“Lovely house - sublime setting” We had a wonderful week here and could barely tear ourselves away from the stunning view and the frolicking seals below us, not to mention the eagles overhead. The weather threw everything it had at us but sometimes that made the view even more dramatic and the everchanging light and beautiful colours inside the house were inspiring. This is a great base for exploring Harris, with lovely art cafes and gorgeous beaches all within easy reach. We can thoroughly recommend Hebrides art, Skoon art, and especially the fabulous Croft 36 who provided us with eggs and fresh-baked bread all week and some delicious evening meals.
And if the weather permits - don't hesitate to take the St Kilda trip. We went with Kilda Cruises and it was a day we'll remember forever.
