“Perfectly relaxing and comfortable” My wife and I stayed 2 weeks at Tyas Cottage and both felt it had been the most relaxing vacation of our 23 years together. The cottage is beautiful; furnished with fine antiques but wanting for nothing in terms of modern convenience - even down to a broadband internet connection. The pub that is a few minutes walk away up the steep hill serves superb (and plentiful) food but it's enjoyable also to eat in with the produce from the Bolster Moor farm shop and the Green Valley grocer (excellent bread) in Slaithwaite. The countryside is a joy for walking; there are plenty of signposted paths - the walk into Slaithwaite is very easy and relatively flat - and very little traffic on the roads. The initial shock of the steep, narrow lane leading to the cottage soon gives way to enjoyment at the fact that no-one would ever stumble on this wonderful place by accident! John and Vicky, who live right next door, are the best of hosts and their chickens are a source of the freshest eggs. We can't wait to return to this little slice of heaven.
