“comfortable base in a peaceful village near Cambridge” A well-presented semi-detached house, set beside a green in a quiet houing estate in a pleasant village near Cambridge. It felt spacious as there is a good sized garden and the living room is a nice size. A quick walk into the village centre for supplies or short drive to supermarket. Within a few minutes drive of park and ride which makes Cambridge accessible. Cambridge a really interesting city to wander around and shops enjoyed by teenage daughter. Within an hour's drive a number of other interesting places to visit. Owner friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. Just one bathroom/toilet might create a bottleneck...
“Outstanding quality of finish, perfect for entertaining, larger than expected & brilliant pool.” We received the warmest of welcomes when we arrived. The house is perfect for large groups of friends wishing to celebrate a special occasion. It was finished to a very high standard with every facility you could wish for. Great kitchen for dinner parties, fast internet, good local pub, perfect warm indoor pool, what more could you want. Huge garden with Trampoline & small pond (Not suitable for unsupervised children). Very comfy bed.
Tesco 5 min down the road and park & ride (Newmarket Road) into Camb town - 5 min past that. Cant wait to go back next year.
The shepherd's hut is wonderfully located - quiet and secluded under the dappled shade of trees, alongside a paddock of horses. The only sound was bird song.
We walked to to the pub in Fulbourn (40 minutes to village centre) in the evening - along easy field edge paths. We saw hares in the fields - one dashing out in front of us just a couple of metres away. In the day we walked to Great Wilbraham- once again along broad field edges, crossing only one road - lovely, easy 4 mile walk.
The accommodation is clean and modern, actually consisting of two huts - one for sleeping and the other for the kitchen/bathroom/composting loo. There is a pleasant picnic area with table/bench for eating.
There is a well stocked coop open long hours in Fulbourn.
The welcome from Dan was warm and helpful with local advice.
Altogether a perfect weekend. Highly recommended. …
Beechwood House Cambridge - PLEASE CHECK AVAILABILITY WITH OWNER BEFORE BOOKING!
Magical weekend in a charming house
We rented Beechwood for a family get together birthday celebration weekend - it was the first place we visited when we booked almost a year in advance and we fell in love straightaway with the house. Spacious, comfortable, elegant, it is all these and more. James is such a thoughtful and gracious host, everything was ready for our arrival, including a Christmas tree, decorations, a home baked cake and bottle of bubbly. Such a lovely welcome :)
With the delights of the cosy indoor pool, the awesome kitchen and flagged dining area, and chilling afterwards by the log fire, it was so hard to have to leave. We’d love to visit again. …

Excellent property to stay. Susan was very helpful and received us with a sponge cake.
The property was very clean and maintained very well, and had a private car parking space.

Would recommend it 100%. …
The Old Chapel
Lovely holiday cottage set in a splendid garden, in small town, great pub nearby!
Good starting point to discover Cambridge and the surrounding country side and villages. There are nice walks in the area and some of the villages are real gems with very good Inn's or Pubs.
Fulbourn has a great pub "The Six Bells" on walking distance from the holliday cottage for a bear or a home cooked meal in a great athmosphere.
Dennis and Ruth are warm and friendly people who are always nearby but on the background at the same time.
The beautiful garden with glashouse, kitchen-garden, cat and some chickens give a country-side feeling to the place. …
THE STUDIO, HORSESHOE COTTAGE, pet friendly, country holiday cottage, with a gar
A holiday home from home
The Studio is a lovely rural retreat in the Fens that is very quiet but far from isolated being on the outskirts of a pretty village and close to Cambridge and Ely. The hospitality cannot be faulted with wine and chocolates on arrival and two of the friendliest dogs to greet you.The accommodation is to a high standard with lots of lovely little touches such as DVDs,games and books making it feel very homely. There was a huge folder of useful information about park and ride for example as well as local shops, restaurants and places of interest. WiFi availability was a bonus. The layout feels spacious with the open plan space upstairs and kitchen downstairs and the bathroon, though bijou, works well. It is ideal for a couple and the only downside would be that it is not suitable for people with mobility problems. The kitchen is very well equipped and the washing machine helpful after muddy walks. Our week went all too quickly and we would love to do a return visit. …
ST VIGORS SHORT TERM LET
Good, decent accomodation
I was searching for accommodation suitable for my baby, husband & mother in law around this area due to work. I needed something that had easy access to Granta Park, but that also provided the necessary amenities travelling with a baby. This accommodation fit that bill. It isn't fancy or particularly charming (its a fairly new built property and may lack the charm of some of the properties in the village), however, it is clean, well equipped and very reasonable in terms of price. The property is as advertised, so we were not disappointed.
The area is quiet, we had no issues with noise, it had off street parking, which was a must for us and the proprietor was an absolute gem to deal with, always readily available to chat to. Overall, if you are looking for something modest and comfortable, easy access to Cambridge, Granta Park & Imperial War Museum for a couple of days and you are not terribly concerned about the interior being homely or well decorated, then this fits the bill! …
