The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is the UK's most popular holiday island and has one of the mildest climates in the country along with being one of the sunniest places in the UK.
The Isle of Wight is very small being diamond shaped and measuring just 16 miles by 23 miles. This adds to being a great holiday destination as everywhere is within easy travelling distance. The isle of Wight became a fashionable place to holiday in the Victorian era after Queen Victoria opened a summer home at Osborne House in East Cowes. The towns of Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde are the most popular tourism resorts on the island with the West Wight being more rural.
Over half of the Isle of Wight is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty with 60 miles of beaches including heritage coastline. For those who like walking and cycling you'll never be bored as the island boasts over 500 miles of well maintained clearly signposted routes and pathways. The Isle of Wight is home to the biggest annual walking festivals which occur in May and September each year.
For families the Isle of Wight is absolutely packed full of things to do and attractions to visit. The Needles is probably the most famous of all island destinations and here you can enjoy a chairlift ride that takes you from the clifftop down to the beach giving you a birds eye view of the stunning coloured sands that this area of Alum Bay is famous for as well as the 3 rocky stacks and lighthouse that you can get closer to on a short boat trip.
Blackgang Chine offers many surprises and goes down in history as being the first theme park in the world to open! It is also well known for it's Disappearing Village attraction.
Cowes in the North of the island is world renown for it's yachting and sailing events throughout the year.
There are many places of historical interest open to visitors including Queen Victoria's Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Appuldurcombe House and many more.
Shanklin nestles in the South East of the Isle of Wight and has a wonderful mild climate with above average days of sunshine. Shanklin Villa is located just a few minutes walk away from Shanklin Beach and Esplanade. Along the Esplanade you can hire deckchairs, play crazy golf/putting let children work off energy with the indoor play areas and get some light refreshments from cafes and bars. There is a stunning Cliff Walk 2 minutes from your apartments that takes you to Sandown and offers some stunning views of the sea. For an easier walk you can go along the sandy beach or Esplanade.
A few minutes walk from the apartments takes you in to Shanklin Old Village with its traditional thatched cottages. Here you'll also find Shanklin Chine with it's deep gorge and waterfalls. Shanklin Town Centre is close by with it's high street shops and supermarkets.
Along the seafront you can access a variety of watersports

"Cromwell apartment Shanklin, IoW"
The apartment was located in a quiet street with little traffic to worry about. The picturesque town of Shanklin was approximately 5 minutes walk away and the beach about the same.
The apartment was very luxurious and was extremely clean and obviously well maintained. The large tv with built in DVD player was essential when the weather was poor and the seperate dining area was nice.
The bathrooms were very well fitted and the bedrooms were comfortable and homely. It was apparant that a lot of money and time has been spent on bringing the apartment up to the standard it is.
There is little to be negative about, although I would say that visitor's need to be fairly fit and healthy as the island has many hills and some of the walks were quite challenging. Also, I would recommend the use of a car as you will want to explore the whole island on your holiday.

"The property has stunning views and the hot tub on the balcony was a hit with children and adults alike"
This is our second Christmas here and the family love it. Walking down to the beach, looking out for the red squirrels, eating plenty of local fish...fabulous. The apartment is lovely and modern and the views are wonderful. Would also recommend the Shanklin panto- it was brilliant. Santa also managed to find us. Thanks to Carol and everyone who made sure everything was ship shape. Would definitely recommend it.

"Outstanding luxury appartment"
We arrived for a mid week break and was warmly welcomed by Mary who showed as around the appartment. The appartments decor was excellent , high quality and very clean the master bedroom was outstanding with a large en-suiet with a spa bath double sink and separate power shower, all rooms had flat screen t.v.
The location was great with seaviews from most rooms.
Shanklin old village and the beach was only a few minutes wallking distance.
The thing we most enjoyed was the hot tub on our private balcony we used it every evening and my 18month old nephew loved it!
Would recomed these apparments and cant wait to return.

As a regular visitor to Shanklin, I saw heard these appartments were being built, and thought they sounded wonderful from the website. We booked a mon-friday break in the cromwell appartment with some friends (influding a 2 year old) for the first week in September and despite the weather being fairly dismal we had a really relaxed chilled-out break, thanks to this appartment 100% living up to expectations!
It advertised as luxury, and luxury it was- beautiful sea views, real wood floors, all mod-cons in the ktchen (dishwasher, washer/dryer etc..) and theprivate hot tub was brilliant - especially in the rain! The master bedroom was HUGE - with an incredible twin sink en-suite - the biggest spa bath I've ever seen, and a shower which had three choices of operation - including jet-sprays ... the only downside was that the other double bedrooms were a bit of a let down in comparison - although they were decorated to the same standard, flat screen TV and all - they were about half the size of the master, which was a bit of a shame...
I really hope to return soon - the flats are in a great location - mid-way between the long sandy beach and shanlklin old village - minutes in either direction - and you can use the facilities in the neighbouring Luccombe Hall hotel with its indoor pool/jacuzi and beautiful gardens...

"Comfort and luxury"
We had a vert pleasant stay in The Cromwell apartment. We were warmly welcomed by Carol. The apartment has got beautiful sea views and is very well furnished. Spotless bathrooms, crisp white linen and super comfortable beds.We cooked all our evening meals and found the kitchen practical. Little details such as a basket of fresh fruit, fresh milk in the fridge and enough dishwasher and laundry tablets left for us for the duration of our stay were very considerate gestures and made us feel welcome. The apartment has got its own hot tub on the terrace and we enjoyed it after a long day spent outdoors. It was serviced every couple of days. We found we only needed it for a couple of hours every evening, and felt a bit bad about the energy consumption of such a luxurious treat. After the first night we found out about the sleep mode and in subsequent nights we just turned it off, as it can also be noisy if left on comtinuously.

"Great acccomodation, fantastic views and great location, we will be going back!"
Acccomodation was excellent and the hot tub great! the views out to see were fantastic and we had great weather which made it extra special. It is an out of the way location but only minutes walk from old and new town and very close to the beach. We took our dog too and it was a great place to be with children for a family holiday.
Would love to go again, but the prices are very high during peak season.

"Fabulous! Cant wait to go again!"
We arrived ealy to be greeted by lovely friendly staff who showed us around the appartment. The villa was spotlessly clean, beautiful decor and well equipped. On top of a hill we had wonderful views, this could be a problem for older people or dissabled, although the whole island is hilly. Our outside area was super with sunshine all day. The hot tub was fun although we could have done with a shelf for our drinks! We would have liked to have sunbeds on the decking. Overall the holiday accomadation was first class. everything and more that we had hoped for.
