The Auction House is part of a stunning new conversion of Ryde's Victorian sale rooms. It is a luxury mews house in a tranquil courtyard setting in the heart of Ryde, barely a 5 minute stroll to the beach. It has been equipped and furnished with boutique hotel style decor to provide a relaxing and stylish base for your holidays.
Downstairs the sitting room is furnished with comfortable Laura Ashley sofas. French windows open out onto the courtyard - perfect for sitting out with a glass of wine or morning coffee. The stylish kitchen/dining area incorporates a peninsular bar so the cook doesn't miss out on any of the action. There is a downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs there is a beautiful king-size mahogany four-poster bed with hand carving and a stunning sunburst canopy - a little luxury is essential on holiday isn't it? The twin bedroom is also sunny and both rooms have crisp bedlinen and proper pillows! The contemporary bathroom has a large bath - perfect for relaxing after a long hard day sightseeing - and shower over.
There are two patio areas for sitting out ( one private to the side of the house, the other overlooking the communal courtyard) furnished with sun-loving plants and garden furniture.
Parking for one car is available in the courtyard.
Due to its location the Auction House provides a very convenient holiday base with shops, restaurants, the beach and Ryde's many recreational facilities just around the corner.

This is our own holiday home and has been decorated to the standard of our own home and not as a holiday let - we hope our guests will appreciate the attention to detail and the quality of the furnishings and equipment e.g.the
stunning bespoke four-poster bed and well equipped kitchen eg. professional pans and Sophie Conran china.

There are two patio areas to the side and the front of the house which between them receive sun all day long. The patios are decorated with sun-loving plants such as standard olives and palms which thrive in the Island's sunny climate. Table and chairs for 4 plus sun umbrella. Barbeque for those essential outdoor meals!
There is parking for one car adjacent to the house. For guests with two cars a long -term car park is available adjacent to the entrance to the courtyard with a short-term car park 100m away.
Storage for bicycles is available in an outhouse.
Please note this is a no smoking property ( although guests are welcome to smoke in the courtyard). Ball games are not permitted in the courtyard in order to protect the peaceful ambiance and out of respect for our neighbours.

The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is a little gem of an island off the south coast of England. Over half of the Island is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is incredible variety for an Island of only 24 miles wide - beautiful downland, some of England's best beaches, stunning cliffs, varied coastline and picturesque villages. Often described as "Little England" due to its variety, it also boasts the sunniest climate in the UK, together with the Channel Islands. It is renowned for its sailing with worldwide competitors coming for the main events.
Situated on the north-east coast Ryde is easily accessed from all ferry points. It is a beautiful, elegant town with many Victorian and Georgian buildings sloping down to the sea. It is renowned for its 6 miles of golden sandy beaches which are amongst the safest on the Island. There are plenty of chic bars, cafes and restaurants for dining out and a privately -owned cinema with tickets an amazing £2.50 - perfect if the weather is not so good! The Esplanade hosts a waterside pool with retractable roof, lawn and ten-pin bowling,a boating lake, ice rink and children's amusement park. There is also a bustling marina.
An excellent bus service allows easy access to the rest of the Island for guests who prefer not to bring cars and rover passes are available for 2 or 7 days. Open-air buses provide guided tours around the Island.

"A lovely place to stay"
We had a very nice stay at the Auction House it was the best place we have stayed in during our travels in all our 55 years of married life. It we well equipted spotlessly clean and very comfortalble, The owners were very helpful with plenty of ideas of what you can do on the Isle of Wight. Because of its nearness to the car ferries and foot ferries it was so easy to find. You can easily manage without a car to get anywhere on the island

"An ideal place to stay for exploring the Isle of Wight"
We found the Auction House to be an immaculate house, decorated to a very high standard and it is situated in a lovely mews which is very quiet. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre and there is private parking too. I can't think of any negatives to say and I would definately recommend it to anyone. Perhaps if I had small children I would have been a bit worried about them damaging the decor but it was ideal for us and there were even a couple of neighbouring cats (who kept their distance, might I add so if you are not a cat lover you probably won't notice them) which we saw as an added perk as we are a family of cat lovers!
