"Everything you could want in a place to stay"
We love Portpatrick and have visited it many times over many years. We have only recently converted to self catering stays, though, having previously stayed in Guest House accommodation. Staying in the Bait House was a great experience. Plenty of room, high standards of fixtures and furnishings, and more things in the kitchen than you would need for an episode of Come Dine With Me. We don't do much Catering for ourselves, there are so many great places in the village, and are usually content with a working toaster, but if you could possibly need it, it was there (pestle and mortar, cheese serving dish, gravy boat, cake stands!) The views from the dining table are so great it even tempted us to maybe eat in but we resisted and walked the several yards to the harbour side pubs. We did enjoy tea and people watching from our great vantage point in the evenings. The Bait House is a charming old house, but that doesn't mean it's draughty or cold. The fab double balcony doors resist the weather and it is as cosy as you could want. There's even a selection of CDs (lots of Country Music, which went down well with the majority of our party!) Robert, the owner was more than helpful and even bothered to text and ask how we were doing. The upside down living arrangement is fun and makes the most of the great location. The big hall allows the dumping of wet boots/coats etc. before going up to the living room. Once you're up there, it's a great, spacious open room but still cosy and homely. A great place to stay.
Thanks for your kind words and glad you liked the music!!

"A house with the WOW factor"
We have been holidaying in Portpatrick for many years now and can never wait to return, even more so following our recent stay at The Bait House. This was our first time staying at The Bait House, which certainly had the "WOW" factor as soon as we walked through the front door. The house is ideally positioned with stunning views to both elevations over the sea to Northern Ireland on one side and into the picturesque harbour on the other and we actually found ourselves spending more time relaxing in the house than we would usually do. The open plan kitchen/living area is ideal, very spacious and light and very well equipped. There are plenty of things to see and do in the area to keep the family entertained. The booking process was simple and easy and Robert was very attentive, answering any queries I had very promptly. We would definately choose to stay at The Bait House again....hopefully in the near future.
Haste ye back!!

Great location, fantastic views and the house is beautiful. Had a fantastic family holiday and the house was suited to all. Great for a relaxing holiday and right by the harbour which makes it ideal. Being going to Port Patrick for 20 years now and this is one of the best places we've stayed in by far. We will definitely be returning to this house in the near future! Stuart
The perfect guests. Welcome anytime!!

"Fantastic cottage in unique, wonderful setting, highly recommended."
Brilliant cottage with all the comforts of home, in our opinion The Bait House occupies the best location in the village of Portpatrick, the views are stunning and all local amenities are only a short distance away on foot. We will be returning for another visit and have already recommended The Bait House to family and friends.
Thank you for your kind words and we're delighted you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again soon.
