The Central England / Cotswolds / Oxfordshire region

Founded in the 12th century Henley-on-Thames is overlooked by beautiful Chiltern landscape of wooded hills and green fields. Just a few strides from the riverbank is the very heart of Henley with its historic church, town hall and market square.
The Henley-on-Thames area
The picturesque historic town of Henley-on-Thames has an olde English charm and is best known for the annual Royal Regatta, Henley attracts some of the world´s finest rowers. Statues of those great Olympians Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Matthew Pinsent greet visitors to the town´s award winning River and Rowing Museum.
Henley also attracts golfers to local courses, is home to the nationally known Henley Hawks rugby club and successful cricket and football clubs as well as a privately-owned polo ground.
The stretch of river between the regatta finish and Henley Bridge is the location for the annual Henley Festival of Music and Arts. Now a popular hospitality venue it attracts some of the world´s top entertainers to perform on a floating stage in front of a dinner-jacketed audience and the site includes exhibitions of art and sculpture.
The thriving Kenton Theatre is one of the oldest performing theatres in the country.
Visitors can enjoy a boat trip down the regatta course, either in one of the commercial boats that operate along this stretch or, rather more energetically, in a rowing boat. Afterwards they can relax in the well-maintained Mill Meadows public park.
Another form of enjoyment is the opportunity to enjoy a meal in one of Henley's many and varied restaurants.

Guestbook for Holiday let Henley-on-Thames
Many thanks for a lovely stay. The location is very good. We think we have been converted to cottage stays now as opposed to hotels. Thank you for a warm welcome.

Dear Dawn
Thank you for providing the perfect little bolt hole for a New Years’ getaway – we have had a wonderful time. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and beautifully put together. Happy 2012 to you!

We recently stayed at the cottage over the Christmas Break and had a fantastic time. From the moment we confirmed our stay, the owner Dawn, could not be more accommodating. The cottage is very close to the centre of Henley-on-Thames so you can walk everywhere, and leave your car behind if you want. The decoration and design in the cottage is gorgeous with the original beams in the kitchen and living room, and a great log fireplace. There are two good size bedrooms and a nice bathroom upstairs. If the weather is good, you can sit out in the lovely back garden. Would definitely recommend this cottage to stay for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a very historic and pretty area of England.
Thank you Dawn!

Well, we’ve stayed here so that I could compete in Challenge Henley which I managed in 11hrs and 37 minutes. I’m not going to be doing the Challenge (once in a lifetime for me) but maybe I’ll just come back and stay here anyway! Great access to Henley. Thank you for letting us check out a bit later today, it’s really made a difference.

What a lovely cottage you have, I felt like I was in a Ralph Lauren designed boutique hotel. It was very comfortable and pleasant stay. I was also very impressed by the town of Henley and your cottage is so superbly located close to the river, shops and lovely restaurants.
I will recommend it to my friends popping over to the UK.

Hi Dawn,
I'd just like to say on behalf of myself, my husband and everybody in the wedding party who came to see us at the cottage, that your property is beautiful! My husband's nephew (he's 5) came in and asked us if it was our new house - we had to say unfortunately no!!!
Thank you for the use of your property, and thank you for being so welcoming and flexible.
Kind Regards,
Michelle

Dawn,
Thanks for the use of the house. The garden was great and the house location was perfect for all the things we wanted to do. We really enjoyed our stay at Henley, except that it was too short.
We'll certainly keep it in mind should we return and we will recommend your house to our friends should they be planning a trip to the region.
Cheers,
Art
