The Montrose Apartment is a luxury self catering apartment in a B listed Georgian building, which has been lovingly restored to include many beautiful period features. A home to 2 artists for 6 months of the year, this is an unusual and characterful flat, furnished and decorated to a high standard with antiques and contemporary artworks.

Whilst retaining it's sense of history, the apartment is fully supplied with 21st century perks.... wireless internet access, home entertainment system and gas central heating, all make it a cosy "home from home" from which to enjoy Edinburgh's city centre.

The large living room has a piano and plenty of seating space, including a single bed that provides sleeping accommodation for an additional person, allowing this apartment to sleep up to 10 guests in total. It also has a plasma TV ( flat screen) and a home cinema system, with a DVD library.

The farm house styled, large, well equipped kitchen has a flagstone floor, Belfast sink, large dresser and dining table, seating 8 comfortably (10 at a squeeze). It also has a Ranger with gas fires, a fan oven and an electric one, as well as a grill and a hot plate. There is also a microwave, juicer, and all the other important musts.

In total there are 4 bedrooms, with the master benefiting from an en-suite shower room with WC and basin and an arabic hose for bidet service. Three of the bedroom are doubles and the fourth bedroom although normally set with 3 single beds, can be easily substituted with a kingsize bed if required.

A main bathroom with wood-panelling, bespoke handbasin and a sunken bath is accessed from the large spacious hall, which has a sitting area.

This is a bright and sunny apartment where all the rooms have natural light. It occupies the whole of the top floor of the building. (It is only two flights of stairs as the second floor is the top floor).

Please note we ask for a refundable security deposit of £300 if it is a short let of 2 weeks or less, if longer we ask for a £500 refundable security deposit to be placed with us before arrival.

We offer a "meet and greet" service whereby you will be met at the property to provide keys and be shown the layout etc. Check in is usually 4pm and check out is by 10am, however alternative arrangements can be made prior to arrival.

We are well supplied for local amenities such as an excellent bakery ( includes rye breads, spelt, etc), a superb off-license ( with best local drinks) and supermarkets (Sainsbury's, Co-op and Iceland all within easy walking distance), many good takeaway's and local restaurants/pubs/cafes, the Omni cinema/restaurant complex, plus of course all the city centre attractions.

We are in the centre, in the top right corner when looking at the A-Z of Edinburgh City Centre page (please see the location map).

This apartment is within walking distance of all Edinburgh's City centre attractions.

The apartment is located at the east end of the city centre, just below Regent Terrace.

It is a 7 minutes walk from the Parliament, the queen's home of Holyrood palace and the famous Royal Mile.

Also if you follow Regent Terrace you will reach Princess Street in 12 minutes and this one is a glorious walk with panoramic views of Arthur Seat and all of Edinburgh, I love this route.

And if you take Royal Terrace you can reach the Play House Theater and the New town in 8 minutes ...another beautiful walk.

This property is well-situated to enjoy plenty of green spaces being close to the huge Holyrood Park (an old volcano) and to Calton Hill, from which you can view Edinburgh in its entirety being in the centre.

If you do not fancy walking the Edinburgh bus tours stop a minute from the apartment and there are also great public transport links.
