This luxury apartment is a newly converted historic building located in the heart of Durham City featuring French doors opening onto a large deck overlooking the river Wear and infamous Elvet Bridge. With so many local attractions dominating tourism, this DUPLEX apartment offers an atmosphere of serenity where you can even spend an afternoon curled up with a good book in the cosy lounge enjoying the view from the deck whilst you sip your tea (or perhaps wine) contemplating where to venture next. Durham City offers a wide range of activities for those who are looking to enrich their cultural knowledge or indulge in relaxation.

The ground floor has a fully secured door with a remote electronic lock. An internal hallway leads to a secure underground free car park with an allocated parking bay for cars and bikes, accessible via a lift or stairs. The main living area consists of a lounge and dining table complete with LCD TV and free WiFi (16mb) internet access. The kitchen is fully equipped with integral appliances including a washer / drier and waste disposal unit. The ground floor has a toilet and wooded floors throughout.

Apartment 5 Elvet Bridge view. The luxury two bedroomed duplex apartment consists of two floors. The ground floor provides open plan living, with French doors overlooking a decking area to the river Wear where you can listen to the Cathedral bells and watch the rowing boats go by.

The upper floor consists of two double bedrooms with a King Size bed in the Master and double in the second bedroom with Egyptian Cotton linen. The bathrooms are also located on this floor, the en-suite and family bathroom both have showers, fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries along with shaving points. There is also a downstairs W.C. and wash basin. In the hallway you will find ample storage space along with a coat stand and complimentary umbrellas.

The modern kitchen is equipped with all you require to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing, with everything from crockery and glasses to casserole dishes and baking trays so you may enjoy eating in or out. We can also offer breakfast and other goodies as optional extras.

The City of Durham is a World Heritage Site and the Cathedral is a must see along with many other historical buildings and places of interest. The bars and restaurants will not disappoint as there is something for everyone, whatever your budget will allow.

The apartment benefits from a beautiful riverside setting, however please be aware that we are located within the city centre and close to the Cathedral, therefore subject to some external noise from the Cathedral bells, restaurants, bars and emergency vehicles.

"it's just amazing!!"

Last summer I divided my holiday into five weeks, one of them was in this lovely apartment. This week was absolutely the best. The apartment is five star. The balcony and the view were fabulous. the price is responsible. The landlord, Chris, is very good person and very caring. I requested a baby cot and he brought a new one immediately. Also, I got the deposit immediately after checking out through my bank account. I cant wait until the next summer to get it again.

"Ideal location, with all home comforts catered for. Even better than the photographs!"

This is a well-equipped, luxurious and very comfortable apartment within walking distance of all the attractions, restaurants, shops etc. It is spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, with plenty of space and facilities for four guests The biggest advantages are the riverside views and balcony right over the river, and trouble-free city-centre parking. In addition, extremely comfortable king-size beds provide welcome rest after a long day. A fabulous place to stay, right in the city centre with everything you could possibly require of a self-catering apartment.

"A wonderful break"

Stayed here with my wife as a treat for our anniversary. We couldn't have chosen better, the apartment was modern spacious and clean, in a stunning location right on the river in the centre of Durham. We arrived by car but ended up leaving it parked all weekend in the secure underground parking space, as the castle, cathedral and numerous bars and restaurants are all within 5-10 minutes stroll of the apartment. The apartment itself had everything we could possibly have needed and was furnished to a very high standard. It was obvious that the owners took a pride in making our stay memorable, even down to providing high quality miniature toiletries and wine and chocolates for our anniversary. All in all a fantastic weekend, we will definitely stay here again, hopefully sooner rather than later.
