Babingtons is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday in the Scottish Borders. Originally three Cottages, the accommodation is all on one level with cosy log fires, double glazing throughout and a new Howdens modern kitchen with Electric Everhot Range Cooker. A patio from one sittingroom with its amazing views over the garden and Cheviot Hills is ideal for lunches or dinners. The white bathrooms have baths & showers with electric heaters & the diningroom has a hostess trolley. Pets are welcome by arrangement. It is ideal for 2-4 people (+sofa bed) in a spacious hall or for larger parties 2-8 people (+sofa bed) in a spacious hall. Either divided or as one Babingtons Cottage is very comfortable, peaceful and has a lovely atmosphere.
The Cottage is located in a peaceful rural location close the historic town of Coldstream right on the Scottish Border. It is surrounded by a spacious gardens with wonderful bird life and open aspects and ample parking,
It is a great location for all outdoor pursuits. There is salmon and trout fishing in the famous River Tweed within a couple of miles. There is also sea fishing from the coast at Berwick, Eyemouth and Coldingham and many boat trips to the Farne Islands.
Historic Houses, Gardens, Riding & Golf Courses are also close by. A visit to Holy Island should not be missed. Day trips to Edinburgh by car or rail are within reach.
Ideal base for either country or coastal walking and cycling.
It is equally suited for those who are looking for tranquillity and relaxation.

The Cottage is suitable for Couples, Families or Small Groups. It can either be booked for 2 - 8 people ( + Sofa bed). Rates accordingly
Babingtons has two Lounges with open fires and excellent views of the Gardens and rural aspect beyond to the Cheviot Hills. The River Tweed is a 10 minute walk. One Lounge has patio doors leading onto paved patio equipped with table and chairs.
Dining Room has a Table that comfortably seats 10 people.
The Kitchen is modern and fully equipped with an Electric Everhot Range Cooker, Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Fridge, Freezer & Microwave.
There are 4 comfortable Bedrooms, 3 twin Rooms & 1 Double. The 3 Bathrooms are equipped with both Baths and Showers and Electric Hair dryers

Babingtons has generous and well laid out gardens to the front and rear of the cottage with beautiful views. The gardens to the rear are ideal for relaxing and entertaining. It also has large gravelled driveway that accomodate guests parking.

Although Babingtons Cottage is rurally located it is close to a good road network to Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne.

Jim Clark Room:
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Jim Clarks death, in 1993 Berwickshire District Council refurbished the ‘Room’ to provide a Museum. The World Motor Racing Champion was killed on April 7th 1968 in an unimportant F2 race at Hockenheim, Germany.

The Union Chain Bridge:
Completed in 1820 the Bridge was then the longest suspension bridge in the world. It remains the oldest and is still open to traffic.

The famous Jim Clark Rally takes place annually in May on the local roads and is quite an attraction for locals and rally enthusiasts.
