Further details indoors:
As I say the flat is completely equipped, but if there is something you might need or like to have, let me know and I will try to provide it. It is also suitable for corporate long lets and has had several in the years I have been doing this. Therefore the flat is really equipped for a home from home. I personally travel a lot and know what I need when I go away!
The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a washing machine in the flat and there is also a laundry in the basement providing larger pay machines and hot air dryers (pay. 50p)
The spacious sitting room has a large modular corner sofa in neutral colours, a double sofa bed, a dining area with glass table and four chairs. There is also a desk for any writing you may wish to do and a laptop and printer provided for your use.
There is a fax facility via the laptop and printer and wireless and ethernet internet is free unless the internet provider deems your use unreasonable!
The flat has electric heating and is supplemented with an air cool/heat system.
There is a double sofa bed which just pulls out.
There is a porter downstairs who lives on the premises and is very helpful. He speaks a number of languages including French Italian and English.
There is an NCP car park 5 mins walk away in Vintry and a few parking meters just 1 minute from the flat. Otherwise, ask me about parking.
There is a Nuffield Health (formerly Cannons) gym with pool 5 mins walk away. The Retreat there provides massage and comprehensive beauty treatments etc together with osteopathy, and physiotherapist. Membership is NOT required for The Retreat area there and its services.
There are a number of good hairdressers in the area, about a 7 mins walk away including Vidal Sassoon, Rush and Oasis There are small supermarkets around the area keeping long hours. If you like a walk to build your appetite the historic Borough Market, the breadbasket of London, can be found by London Bridge and Southwark Cathedral.
Across the Millenium Bridge, there are many restaurants of varying price ranges and styles. On the North Bank there are also many to choose from including two 'around the corner', and now a wine bar has been opened there. There is also a 'secret' cafe very close by, known mainly to the locals, nice food relaxed and modern.
There is a public facility for hire bicycles, nicknamed "Boris Bikes", right around the corner.

Please note that despite what it says on the site, I have been with Holiday Lettings since 2007. Their new embed is not accurate in my case for some reason but they cannot change it at the moment. As you will see from my guestbook, my first review in the guestbook was from my first guests.
Now to the apartment. Urban on one side. River on the other. And has to be one of the best views in London from the roof.
Although there is a main thoroughfare close to the flat, this does not affect its peacefulness.
Bear in mind this apartment is in the historic Square Mile or City of London as opposed to City of Westminster. It is on the North Bank of the River Thames. However the South Bank is literally a five minute walk away over either Southwark Bridge or the Millenium Bridge and there you have the Globe Theatre, masses of restaurants & bars, The Tate Modern and Borough Market. It is also a 5/10 minute walk from St Pauls which hosts cafes, restaurants, Marks & Spencer Foods, various shops. Cheapside, the ancient market place of the old city of London, is now a smart area for various kinds of retail, including Tesco's for food. At the weekend the City is quiet from workers, but the above facilities remain open. There are two restaurants 3/4 mins walk from the apartment on the River Bank by the Millenium Bridge together with The Samuel Pepys which has an enviable view over the Thames. Occasionally marathons are held which go past the front door or events in the City so please check with the owner on access when travelling to and from. Further information on travel can be read on the Transport for London site.
There are many transport opportunities within 5/10 mins walk taking you into the West End or out to the Olympics.
Further details
The flat will comfortably accomodate 4 people . The reason I don't advertise specifically really that it is on a party by party basis, the above price is for UP TO 2 people.
I take children, just to say there are hard surfaces in the flat which is why I have marked children under 5. There is the recent addition of a portable Samnsonite cot.
I am sorry that pets are not allowed. The flat is a non smoking flat.
Whilst Wheelchair access is easy into the block, and there are adequate lifts to the fifth floor, the front doors to the flats themselves are rather narrow and the flat/ bathroom is not equipped. However recently a wheelchair user has stayed at the flat with no discomfort although please note the shower is over the bath itself.
Smoking allowed on the roof only.

I am happy to look at any length of booking and make up of the party. Just ask.

The South East England / London region

Weather is changeable and is part of the attraction of the British Isles. London is a large capital city containing everything the city visitor could wish for.
Just across the Millennium Bridge there is the South Bank complex a 20 min walk away to the right , whilst the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre enhance the view, with the London Eye around the river bend. The Barbican Arts Complex, home to great music, film and theatre is about 20 mins walk North past historic landmarks.
The Central London/Zone 1 / St Paul's area
The new Festival Hall revamp has been completed and there are many festivals on the South Bank with fabulous food, theatre and music, around the South Bank Centre.
There are restaurants to cater for all appetites and pockets.
One of the best butchers in London is situated in historic Bow Lane, close by. There are clubs for all nighters hidden around the City. During the week, the Square Mile is a financial hub, working from such architectural gems as the Lloyds Building and the 'Gherkin'; and the weekend gives a quieter, more leisurely pace centred around St Pauls just up the road.
A bus hop or walk along Fleet Street takes you to Covent Garden or perhaps you would prefer to go by boat from one of the many piers.
An ideal spot to spend time in either sunshine or rain.
The flat itself is situated in The Square Mile, the historic City of London, home of the ancient Guilds, St Paul's Cathedral and many Wren churches and at the weekend there is even more space to walk in. There are many restaurants, cafes and bars a short walk away, with small food shops, butchers and pastry cooks in plenty. Along the River Walk, about 20 mins to the left , there is the Tower of London.
Or of course a straight line for a last minute booking to Wimbledon!

Guestbook for QUEENS QUAY
From my guestbook:
"We had a great stay at Queen's Quay in July 2007. The location is superb - a walk along the river to Charing Cross, minutes over the Millennium Bridge to the Tate Modern, and a very short stroll to St Paul's. The apartment itself is pristine, spacious and secure. It is very well equipped, extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. It has everything one could need, and more, including access to a roof garden with views over the river and across the city. Su had thought of everything to make us welcome: there were even teabags in the teapot ready for us to make a brew after our journey! We did not want to go home and will certainly return. We would recommend the Queen's Quay to anyone. Claire & David from Dublin..."
"Thank you Su for letting us stay in our beautiul apartment. We felt as though it were our home by the end of our visit and are having a hard time saying goodbye. A & MN from USA" April 2011
"I lick the sofas because they are really comfy. H aged 7." March 2011
