Only half a mile from the nearest pub and approx 1 mile from Baslow village.

The market town of Bakewell is close by as is the Monsall Trail and The beautiful village of Ashford In The Water.

There are many places nearby for walking, fishing, cycling and horse riding.

Chatswoth House is approx 1 mile away in the car or a 20 minute walk through the Chatsworth Estate.

i was very disappointed to read your review considering that we have been running the barn for a year and a half now and the feed back has always been excellent.
I would not describe the barn as being 'sandwiched' between 2 busy main roads. The barn is situated next to a 'b' road that does see an increase in traffic during periods of good weather or if there is an event at Chatsworth. I think that you probably noticed this more since every window in the barn was left wide open, therefore it is inevitable that you are going to here noise from outside.
This kind of good weather is not a common occurrence for us, unlike Australia, so when the weather is good, everyone heads out into the country!
The building site you refer to is some trenches being dug into the fields for the installation of renewable energy sources. This will be completed by the end of next week.
I have took some comfort in reading all of your other reviews on Tripadvisor!
